I was watching this game and Michigan RB Michael Hart broke free for a run for about 50 yards and then was caught from behind by the white Strong Safety Eric Smith. Surprisingly they credited Smith with great speed and athletic ability. However when they described Hart as not having great size or speed but a great heart for the game (he is 5'9 and 195lbs) I had to wonder if he was white, would he be playing Division I football? I highly doubt it. Another example of caste football.

I remember when Michigan recruited Hart. He was the top high school running back in New York State, and a friend of mine was all excited because he thought by the sound of his name that Hart was white. I found a photo of Hart on the Internet and quickly dashed his hopes.

Black high school running backs who lack good "measurables" but are productive almost always get recruited to play tailback by big programs. Equally productive white high school running backs with much better "measurables" never do.
