This all-American wrestler just won the Bellator lightweight tournament and wins a shot at the belt of Eddie Alvarez.

His base is wrestling but he outstruck a very good stiker in Patricky Friere to win the fight.

He didn't look half bad for a guy who has only been training for about three years now. The Friere brother have been training mma since they were 13.

Also another wrestler Lance Palmer make his mma debut next week against Emilio Gonzales. Palmer 23 was a four time All-American at Ohio State and two time runner up for the national title.

Chandler kicked Freire in the groin 3 times and each time was a hard inside leg kick and once with a knee. He should have been DQ. Imagine fighting after receiving 3 groin shots. His striking was better than I expected, the worst thing going for him is that he is in the 155 pound weight class which is the toughest weight class. Alvarez probably takes him.

All the shots were unintentional and they did take a point from Chandler. Don't forget that they wear cups and that Chandler was dominating even before the groin shots. Actually, the break in action probabaly saved Friere who was gassed due to Chandler's constant pressure.

Alvarez probabaly does take Chandler who only has 2 years experience. But Chandler is a future star and champ if his standup keeps developing like this.

Mousasi's upkick was unimtentional and he did'nt get a warning. 3 strikes to the groin sucks to the groin suck and those cups don't give you much protection. There should be more uniformatity to point deductions. Lesnar had a point taken away from him the first time against Mir, that was BS too, he also had no warning. Why can a guy kick a guy in the groin 3 times and on the third time get a point deducted and other fighters get no warning? It's BS.

Low blows happen in every fight so points would be taken in every round if they deducted a point for that each time. The refs seem to take upkicks and illegal elbows to the head the most serious. That might have cost Brandaon Vera against Jon Jones. Vera was working his BJJ and kicked Jones in the head - giving Jones a break and taking a point from Vera.
