Tomorrow night the legend of Loma continues. It will be an explosive fight. Linares has been susceptible to fighters who can box and who have power. Loma is completely a different animal with blinding speed.

Linares will know he is in a life and death struggle come round 4. He will go for broke by attempting to take out Loma. He may hurt Loma, but Loma is a once in a generation fighter. He will recover from being hurt and take out Linares btwn rounds 6 and 8 rounds in spectacular fashion or his corner throwing in the towel. Can not wait for this fight on ESPN tomorrow.

If you read the "scouting reports" on him apparently he has average in speed. Just saying. LMAO!

ESPN seems to be making a move to challenge Show and HBO with this fight. Can't believe the PFP is in a tough match against a proven fighter and I don't have to do PPV.

I keep thinking Linares is the challenger. Well he will be a challenge. His physical talent jumps out when you watch him but Loma is likely miles ahead of him mentally and tactically.

Loma's toughest yet and Linares has the physical ability to have some moments.

Was looking like Linares was coming on strong, won that 9th I'd say. Came out strong in 10th, and then Loma went Matrix on him and he goes to the floor. Other than 9th and 10-8 in the 6, I think Loma won each round but probably would have lost on score cards anyway.

KO Loma wins! Champion at 3 weights! Joins Floyd, Manny, and DeLaHoya as only others to accomplish this feat!

Great win for Loma. Especially by beating a world class fighter after being dropped in the 6th. The liver shot was similar to Bopkins KO'n Oscar back in 2004. 14 years ago. I had Loma up 7 points. But Oscar had his corrupt judges lined up ala Canela vs GGG fight. If Loma did not take it out of Oscar's judges' hands, it could have been scored a draw.

One judge had it Linares, one Loma, and one even. If it had gone the distance very good chance Loma would have lost on the cards. What a surprise.

Yes the scoring was weird I thought the first round was a toss up I guess the judges gave it to Linares and I thought the second round was close too(ditto on the scoring), but Loma swept the other rounds less the knockdown round and the 9th. Thank god this didn't go the distance and the boxing world having another shady draw or a split decision for Linares. As for the fight Loma showed that he is pound for pound the best fighter in the world as he made a legitimate pound for pound fighter look foolish at certain points in the fight.

This win also showed that he needs to wear the ear muffs more as the knockdown was caused by leaping in with no guard at all, as Loma fights bigger and stronger guys he will be at size and strength disadvantage and a Mikey Garcia type could have violently turned the tables with that error.

This prediction (along with some others) is close enough to confirm Westside's title as the pound for pound king of prognostication.

The judging screw job was all set up had the fight gone the distance. Take note Loma.

I think all those reaction drills Loma does really helped him spot that liver shot opening and put his punch right on the money.

Ha ha, thanks Hock. Loma next fight is a unification with Ray Beltran. A rugged fighter, but not on the level of Linares. It will be a beat down of epic portions in August.

Let me preface everything with an obvious observation. CLEARLY Loma was the much smaller man and realistically should not be fighting as a Lightweight. They have separate weight classes in boxing ( and wrestling) for a reason. I know it looks great in the record books as Loma gets another title at a third weight division but these ideas that he should go up one more class to fight Garcia is stretching things way too far in my book. Loma is a natural featherweight but as fighters mature their bodies do too so super featherweight is his true station at this point in time. It was jarring to watch as Linares just looked so much bigger.

That said it was a classic fight last night. I was being very CONSERVATIVE in my scoring giving Linares the benefit of all doubts. By the 10th round I had Loma up but not by a big margin. In my mind the fight was still in the balance thinking one rogue judge could end up screwing Loma. As it turns out one judge DID have Linares ahead before the KO.

Considered the "face of boxing" going into the championship fight it is safe to say Loma entered LEGEND status last night. A tense tight fight it was exciting on several levels. There were times I thought Loma was getting to Linares but that 6th round knock down put a quick halt to that. It was a direct blow made even more powerful due to the fact Loma walked right into it. Down he went but he was up in a split second and seemed OK.

Loma recovered nicely and turned up the heat in the 7th and the 8th with Linares bleeding, but I thought he lost that momentum in the 9th which I gave to Linares by a hair.

But as mentioned above Loma went matrix in the 10th and quickly landed some head shot combos before the devastating say good night body shot. Linares, as the fight went on, like the fighters in Loma's last few fights, was having trouble staying focused as the cumulative effect of Loma the GENIUS took it's toll. He was quietly wearing Linares out which set up the 10th round barrage.

There are all sorts of boxing champs. The slippery eel types who wiggle there way to victory without too much adversity. Or the "fake" bully types like Mike Tyson who crumbled up like a cheap suit once somebody stood up to him.

And then there are the legends which is what Loma became last night. There was a lot of bitching about Loma NOT being challenged in his last few title fights. The carping about fighters "giving up" without acknowledging the fact that Loma beat them into submission.
Well all that nonsense talk came to an abrupt end last night. Getting up off the canvas after getting nailed squarely and having enough toughness to come back and win in a KO says more than enough about this great athlete.

His star was already shining bright but last night he managed to climb to even greater heights. One cannot give enough praise to Lomachenko. He is without peer. A Champion for our times!!!

Last night had an example of what were talking about and the dangers to Loma if he keeps on going up in divisions. Sadam Ali was ko'd by his Mexican opponent and the size gulf was enormous.

I watched this fight after the Loma vs Linares fight and every time Ali was touched to the head he either was rocked badly or dropped violently. At a certain point no matter how talented you are giving up so much natural size is suicidal. https://fightnews.com/21480-2/21480

Loma tops out at 140 lbs a year or so from now. He just does not have the frame to take on elite 147 lbers or a Mickey Garcia at 140 lb right now. WIS, I also saw that fight. That Munguia at 154 lbs is a monster and only 21 years old. With proper management, a star in the making.
