Looks like the Nordic Monster is suffering from diverticulitis again.

Through all the seasons of The Ultimate Fighter, we are all used to seeing issues between coaches leading up to a showdown between them. With Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans, Josh Koscheck and Georges St-Pierre and Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, we have seen some funny situations. Usually one of the men is cocky, while the other keeps his head straight and has fighters that win. With the latest season featuring Brock Lesnar and Junior Dos Santos, we haven't seen any of that.
Both men were in the TUF house to do a job and didn't have any confrontations or funny moments. They were there to help make these fighters better all-around mixed martial artists. While this doesn't make for great television, it does help with the buildup of their end of season confrontation. Unfortunately for all fight fans, that end of season fight is off the table .
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has been forced to withdraw from the UFC 131 main event after a reoccurrence of diverticulitis. Diverticulitis "occurs when one or more diverticula in your digestive tract become inflamed or infected." This is a condition that never really goes away and leaves sufferers in serious pain.
When Lesnar was first diagnosed with this illness, it was bad enough that it required surgery, but that isn't the case with all situations.
Instead of seeing Dos Santos and Lesnar battle in the main event, Shane Carwin will now step into the main event slot. Dos Santos is 12-1 in his career, including 6-0 in his UFC career. The fight with Lesnar was one all MMA fans wanted to see, but Carwin is a suitable replacement. Carwin gave Lesnar a run for his money in the first round of their title fight at UFC 116.
The Dos Santos fight will be his first since the Lesnar loss. Ring rust could be an issue, but it should still be fun. I think most people felt that these two would have battled at some point. I just thought it would be for the UFC title. Lesnar is the biggest draw in MMA and this loss, coupled with the loss of the Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard UFC 130 fight puts the UFC in a tough spot. Carwin will still make it an interesting fight, but pay per view buys will certainly be down.
