BF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (47-3, 42 KOs) crushed Ray Austin (24-3-4, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. After an uneventful first round, Klitschko connected with four huge left hooks in round two. Austin crumpled face first to the canvas and was unable to beat the count of referee Eddie Cotton. After the fight, Klitschko said the fight was even easier than he expected and added, "it doesn't matter who is next." It was the second successful defense for Klitschko, who won the title last year by KO against Chris Byrd in this same arena

Wlad unloaded 4 devastating left hooks which the first one was the one that clearly hurt austin.Austin fell face first on the canvas.Wlad looked great and very focused. He should go after the winner of Sultan-Briggs so he can grab the WBO strap to his collection.Edited by: onewarrior5

The vermin were actually complimentary this fight. They were actually saying how athletic he is and that he was quicker and faste then Austin

The Ukrainian knocked down Austin 87 seconds into the round with at least three left hooks. The American climbed to his feet but referee Eddie Cotton stopped the fight.

"I was surprised he got back up, but he wasn't clear in the head," Klitschko said. "I was motivated by the talk from Austin and his promoter, Don King, before the fight."

Klitschko improved to 48-3 with his 43rd knockout in the mandatory defense, while Austin fell to 24-4 with four draws and 16 knockouts.

Neither Austin nor King, both of whom had called Klitschko heartless before the bout, showed up at the postfight press conference.

The " Steel Hammer's " entrance was terrific last night. There was what looked to be a blacksmith (white) pounding out a rythem to the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Clips of various Next Negro Champs talked about how devastating Klitschko's right hand is. Chris Bird was heard to say " It is a steel hammer.", referring to his knock-out loss to Klitscho. The champion made his way to the ring with his jaw set, eyes focussed. The pro-German, mostly white crowd gave tremendous applause to the Champion during pre and post fight. It was very refreshing to hear the Champion called "Doctor" in regard to his Ph.D. And laugable when Lamply talked of Austin's prison, drugs and thug life. This is a great time in our peoples history with regard to dominance in boxing. Savor every moment boys!Edited by: WHITE NOISE

You guys are not kidding about those lightning fast hooks. It's nice too see how much improvement Vladimir has made and to see him knockout Austin with his left hook was a nice suprise. I expected a KO but he usually does that with his right hand not his left. I hope to see the two brothers fight someday after they have gotten rid of all the "afflete" pretenders to the throne. Interesting that neither Don King or Ray Austin showed up for the post fight news conference after questioning Vitali's heart all week long.

The Klitschkos will never fight each other. Might as well give up hoping to see that right now. That's a waste of good hope.

Did Don King and Ray Austin question Vitali's heart? Or Wladimir's, along with his balls and chin?

I know they have expressed in the past that they will not fight each other but money often talks. A Klitschko vs. Klitschko ppv would gross close to 100 million dollars. I do understand brothers not wanting to fight each other, if they decide to stick with that, I respect them for it.

Klitschko has more heart(and class) in one testical than Don King, or Ray Austin have in their whole body.

Austin and his camp were chirping at the press conference about Klitschko's faults. Meanwhile this was a guy with 3 losses and 4 draws against mediocre ESPN level competition, claiming that he could take advantage of them....

But WHICH Klitschko were they talking about? He fought Wladimir. The post before mine said they were talking about Vitali. I missed the press conference so I don't know if they were talking about both brothers or if he meant Wladimir but wrote Vitali.

It sure seemed that HBO was holding their nose while broadcasting this one. No interview of either fighter in the pre-fight show. At least they could have spoken with Austin. This was his big moment, and not his fault it was tainted. Give the guy a little camera time.

Then in the post fight, they didn't have Vlad run through the replay like they usually do. I could have done with some insight into how he was able to pounce with such a perfect move.

The knockout was great, but everything else was weird. Maybe that's what HBO gets for dealing with such a slutty whoreganization as the IBF. The whole scene had everyone acting like they were going to hate themselves in the morning.

During the pre-fight press conference Con King and Ray Austin said "Wlad has no heart, chin and balls."

Wlad was really pissed off and you can see it during the weigh in and in the ring and the post fight interview.
