Jordy Nelson

Hello all

I'm a new poster, though I've been lurking for a while. It's great that
there's a site that is brave enough to address
the ridiculous discrimination that white
athletes ecounter in team sports.

Anyway, I wanted to bring to your attention a guy that you might want to keep tabs on.

Jordy Nelson is a sophmore wide reciever for Kansas State that has
already started off well despite the fact that this is his
first year at the position. 7 catches for 76 yards and 2 TDs in
the first two games, which makes him second on the team in catches and
yards. The team site says that he is the second fastest man on the
squad.

Somebody to definitely keep tabs on. Unfortunately, K-State doesn't
seem to be a pass happy team, but I have a feeling this guy may turn
out to be a star.

Thanks for the info Kaiser, and welcome to Caste Football. I'm sure we have some people who will keep their eyes on Jordy.

it's interesting to note that the team's website says Nelson is the second fastest player behind yamon figurs. it says figurs runs a 4.29 40 but just 11.01 in the 100 meters.

while it doesn't list Nelson's 40 time, it does list him as running a 10.63 100 meters...hmmm...that number seems faster.

also Nelson is a bigger target at 6'3" 210 than figurs who is 6'0" 180.

btw, shouldn't this be on the college stars page?

I am watching the Texas Tech/K-State game and Jordy just caught a 80 yard TD catch. He was one on one with the CB and blew by him on the post route. That gives Jordy 6 TD catches for the season. After the TD, the TV analyst made some comments about Jordy. He was not recruited to play football (anyone surprised?) but was highly recruited as a decathlete. He was projected as an Olympic hopeful. He really wanted to play football so he walked on at K-State and started out as a safety, but was switched to WR. He leads the team in receiving with 19 rec. for 351 yds and 6 TDs. Go Jordy!!

Once upon a time the word decathlete was synonomous with "athletic", especially a decathlete with Olympic potential, but it has gotten so bad for whites in sports(I was going to say white athletes but apparently there aren't any) that even succes as a decathlete won't gain one the appellation "athletic".

Well, Jordy is definitely athletic. He already has touchdowns of 70 and
80 yards recieving this year. That's phenomenal considering how rare
those are and the fact that Kansas State is not exactly a pass
happy team.

He definitely looks like a star of the future.

BTW, he was also on the basketball team...

Basketball starter who averaged 17.2 points on 58-percent shooting as a senior and set school career records for blocks (161), steals (225) and assists (325); a first team all-state selection for all divisions by the Capital Journal; Mercury's Flint Hills Player of the Year.

Jordy is a stud. Those track times are incredible for a man 6'3" and 210 lbs. I wonder why he is not competing on the K-State track team (he is not listed on their track roster).
