Several Caste match ups for Saturday night's fight. Black Anderson Silva versus White Chael Sonnen is the main event for the 185 pound title. I am taking Sonnen, Matt Hughes, Roy Nelson and Jon Fitch over mestizo Brazilian Thiago Alves. Let's support our fighters. Also I will be rooting for Clay Guida over mestizo Rafael Dos Anjos. If you are going out to watch the fight expect the savages to be out since their "boy" Silva is fighting. Suprisingly the last time Silva fought I was watching the PPV at one of the casinos here in Las Vegas and 99 percent of the people were booing Silva.I even saw a couple of wiggers booing him.

An excellent card tomorrow. Many insiders are picking Sonnen on this one. Fitch should handle Alves (again) as well.

Would love to see Hughes and Guida win even though their opponents are white Brazilians.

And you all may think I'm crazy but I would not be too surprised if Roy Neslon pulls the upset.

You can NEVER count out "Big Country". I have no proof, but I am of the opinion that the UFC really does not like Roy Nelson at all. In fact I think UFC management views him as a pest. I think soem of this has to do with the way Roy bull whipped Kimbo Slice right at the beginning of the Ultimate fighter.

Dana has never liked Nelson because of his pot belly which doesn't make him look like a UFC fighter and Nelson is a loner who largely trains for MMA fights by himself. I think Dana has some grudging respect for him now. I hope Sonnen pulls off the upset because I have never seen a white guy like Sonnnen do as much trash talking as he has before the fight, he better make a good showing.

Sonnen better show up tonight after all of the sh*t he has talked. Fitch better take down Alves because Alves is lethal on his feet. Watch Alves conditioning tonight as he had a tough time making 170 pounds.Nelson should use his wrestling and jiu-jitsu to defeat Dos SSantos and Highes should use his wrestling skills against Almeida. Basically this card is White American grapplers against Brazilian strikers. Hopefully our side wins

Welcome to Caste Football Howard, nice posts so far. You seem to understand what this site is all about which we don't always get from newbies.

Man Sonnen has talked a whole lot. I hope he can at least keep the fight competitive and if he could grind out a win. To be honest, I could care less if he beat Silva(it's hard to bet against Silva). But I at least want him to take Silva out of his comfort zone for a couple rounds and make him feel vulnerable!

To Dixie Destroyer: I hope I did not steal your thunder by starting a topic on a UFC card.I have trolled this website for about 2 years and noticed you usually handle the MMA section quite well. I was excited about the card and could not wait.

It's about time to shut the octogan doors. The time for sh*t talk is up.Hopefully our guys show up. I wish I could give them a pep talk.I might have a future career as an MMA Tony Robbins.

Loss but moral victory for Sonnen. He totally dominated Silva for 4 rounds, even knocking him down in the 1st and 5th rounds. Totally backed up all his smack talk, unfortunately his over-aggressiveness which worked so well for 4 rounds backfired with just 1 minute just to go.

Which was idiotic considering he didn't need to be aggressive on the ground as he 100% won the first 4 rounds.

Silva won (at that point) the only was he could have...via a sub. I think Chael got a little sloppy (in rd 5) as he was tired from kicking Silva's @$$ for 4+ rounds.

I'm pleased that Silva was majorly exposed, although he'll still be undeservedly ranked #1 P4P and "overall best fighter" "until beaten" and regardless of how he goes unbeaten. But I'm so pissed Sonnen got caught in another submission when he was so damn close to victory.

I just woke up and I am still incrdebly pissed. Sonnen should have stalled out in the 5th. He beat the sh*t out of Silva and now everyone is praising Silvas miraculous comeback. When they say life is not fair this is what they are talking about. This stings worse than when Fedor lost. This is worse. This feeling is why I have a hate/love relationship with MMA and the reason I joined this forum. If there was no MMA talk I would never have joined. All the those following football, baseball, etc.don't know what thhey are missing. But for now complete and total anger/disappointment that punk Silva has the belt and even greater anger that people think he is P4P number 1. Now GSP should be number 1 but since he is White he will be screwed over for black punk Silva.f**k!

Great fights last night. Well worth the 45 bucks. The white fighters really represented well.

Big country took a bad beating, but that wasn't too surprising.

Even though the Sonnen loss was extremely disappointing, Silva was thoroughly exposed. Silva made a TNB excuse that he had a rib injury before the fight, but I believe he is done. He's 35 and now the mystique is gone. Somebody's going to take the belt from him soon.

Matt Hughes is a beast.

Sweet comeback k.o. by the skyscraper.

Next up: Randy Couture v. James "Lights Out" Toney. They interviewed Toney and he sounded totally brain damaged. I expect Couture to annihilate Toney. And, I'm sure Dana White wouldn't have put this fight on the card if he wasn't sure that Couture would win. It's part of proving mma is better than boxing.Edited by: icsept

Couture too smart to let that happen, he will not stand and trade punches with Toney.

I don't know about that. It's always a possibility. Tim Silvia got knocked out by ex-boxer Ray Mercer so we will have to see. I don't think Sylvia was even in half decent shape for that fight and he should have taken the fight to the mat.

Thanks for the results and analysis on UFC 117. I missed this one (out of town for the weekend)...was hopping Sonnen would make it a fight and to be honest, sounds like he did better then most people thought.
Yes, Silva is overrated due to his affletic skin color and antics as this impresses the weaklings, media castophiles and DWFs.
Having said that, sounds like Silva squeaked out the submission victory.
Sucks!

Glad Hughes, Fitch and Guida won. So this was 3-2 USA over Brazil basically.
Silva will lose soon...I predict in his next 2 fights someone defeat the black brazilian bastard.
Do you think Sonnen may get a rematch? Who is likely to fight Silva next?

As for Big Country, a lot of potential but will need to modify some things at this level though to have a real shot on the top guys. He's a brawler and a tough big body but just not up to pare with the other powerful, technical and fit heavys.
Couture will not lose to Toney, no chance.

Thanks again guys for the updates on this one.

I think Silva has to fight Vitor Belfort next, but Dana White seems to definitely approve of a rematch with Sonen.

To BoRussia: It should have been 4-1 over Brazil and the night was ruined because of Sonnen. In Las Vegas the UFC is our pro sport so we talk a lot about it, like New Yorjers blabing about the Yankees and I can tell you that everyone thinks GSP would smoke Silva so there is no talk from Silva's camp about that fight. Silva's manager Ed Soares claims that Sonnen does not deserve a rematch. Check out ESPN's MMA fight section for the story. I believe overrated Vitor Belfort will get the next fight.

Belfort doesn't deserve the shot before Sonnen gets a re-match, but that won't happen because Chael's not "marketable" according to the UFC brass (despite having movie star looks, being clean-cut & intelligent). Yet Penn is "marketable" & thus his immediate rematch (vs. Sonnen having to wait).

I would not be surprised if Belfort beats Silva. Vitor Belfort (like him or hate him) has scary one punch Knockout power as a middleweight. Hell, Vitoe Belfort had dam good power as a Light Heavyweight. If Vitor can muster a the type of performance that he is capable of, I will not be surprised in the least if he leaves the Octagon with the title. That being said, I think Chael deserves a immediate rematch. My mates and I had such a good time at my place on Sunday afternoon. (which is when the UFC's are live because of the time difference) We fired up the barby, had a few beers, discussed race relations in Australia, and then had our hearts broken when Chael got tapped. In fact the fight still pisses me off. Oh well, Chael represented our people well.
