It is very early but I do have some interesting news. According to a source who will remain unnamed, Casey Combest is going to attempt a comeback in the US this indoor season. Could this be true or is it just another rumor running wild? Time will tell.

It is still such a shame that a white high school kid with the fastest 60 meters in US High School History(6.57) never even went on to be a track star in college or after. What an incredible waste of talent. I sure hope he gives it one last try despite it being years and years since his last formal training.

If you guys go to youtube at all, check out some of Michael LeBlancs sprinting videos he has uploaded from last season. He has both indoor and outdoor races. The 10.17 race is fun to watch. Other than Pickering, LeBlanc is the fastest white man on the planet and he is only 21 years of age as well. I can't wait for the indoor season to get started next month.

Guus hoogmoed( do you guys remember him) said at www.guushoogmoed.nl(it is in dutch)that he will train more serious this year. And will running 60 meter too.Last time he did run 60 meter indoor was 2 years ago.His P.B is 6.75 and want to improve that a lot this season. Also his 10.15.His coach has a fulltime job next to training him(he got no big sponsor)But in Europe a fulltime job is at the most 8 hours a day.So still time to train him.

Thanks for the update on Guus. He has major potential to break through this year along with Pickering,LeBlanc and even Paul Hession. I hope these guys can continue to scorch the track! Keep us posted on the latest on Hoogmoed whenever you can.

Hey track nuts, any predictions for the coming indoor season?
You guys keep forgetting about Jared Connaughton(Canada) who just ran ran 6.69 in the prelims at OU. He didn't run the finals because didn't need to.He would have smoked them all.

By the way,Jared is faster then Mike Leblanc and Macro.Sorry to burst your bubble.Edited by: snowflake

I hope your right snowflake. I would love to see JayConn run some serious fast times this year. His p.b. in the 100 is not near as fast as LeBlanc has run but I think Jared has a faster 200 at the moment. I root for both of these guys.

Michael LeBlanc is trying to get back to health ever since he hurt himself lifting weights a half year ago. He hasn't competed since. I hope he can recover and get back to sprinting again becaue he is an amazing talent!

From Special Dispatches

Owensboro, Ky., product Casey Combest, who set the national high
school record for the indoor 60-meter dash in 1999, made his first
appearance on the track in eight years yesterday by winning the 55-meter

Combest competed at a meet in Kentucky this weekend.
He was hoping to post a good time in the 60m, but false started and was dis-qualified.
So we'll have to wait a little longer to see how his comeback is going.
