What's happenin'? Where are they?

Helenius - Hasn't fought since March 2013. "Due to contract disputes with team Sauerland he is currently inactive." How long is that going to last?

Dimetrenko - Also hasn't fought since March 2013.

Wach - last fought Nov 2012

Who else am I forgetting?

Funny how these guys have disappeared. I think Wach hasn't fought since the Klitschko beating. A bit off topic, but what happened to Dmitry Pirog. He was a star after beating Daniel Jacobs and then won his next three fights and hasn't fought in 2 years. Why did he retire?

He injured his back. I'm not sure he ever officially retired. With his martial arts style of defense, flexibility is a key of letting is offense flow from his defense.

As for the other guys many times after tough losses careers are reassessed. Dimetrenko has been blown out twice now he may be thinking of new career options. Also promoters have a tougher time promoting a guy who has failed against the elite unless they match their man tough and when they do this they are putting their promotional dollars at risk.

Wach doesn't seem to want to fight anymore, he's cancelled several scheduled fights.

Dimitrenko is poorly promoted and seems to have lost his ambition.

Helenius has chronic injuries and is at odds with his promoter. His father has been attacking the Sauerlands on boxing websites and in the Finnish sports media (making serious allegations) so I don't think Robert will fight in Sauerland events in the future.

Robert Helenius splits with Sauerland and Wegner, Finn’s hand injury reportedly career-ending

The Boxing Observer: Oct. 12, 2013 - Finnish heavyweight Robert Helenius had reportedly moved back to his homeland after splitting with his promoters Sauerland Event and trainer Ulli Wegner. The unbeaten contender (19(11)-0) has endured a dreadful couple of years which pretty much started with a controversial European title win over Dereck Chisora back in 2011. He was incredibly lucky to prevail via a split decision but also sustained a suspected career-ending shoulder injury which kept him out of action for 12 months. Lackluster wins over Sherman Williams and Michael Sprott followed along with another succession of hand and shoulder injuries which have now allegedly forced the once promising heavyweight to move back to Finland.

Promoters from his homeland are locked in talks with Sauerland to take over his contract although it is being reported that he has no intention of ever fighting in Germany again, and that certainly does not bode well for his title ambitions should he still harbour any. Helenius is currently ranked #2 by the EBU and enjoys a top ten rating with both the WBO and the IBF but it is unclear if he can still fight on the elite heavyweight scene as the word going around the campfire at present is that the Finn’s right hand injury, which he aggravated against Sprott, is potentially career-ending hence his move back to the relatively quiet boxing scene over in Finland (compared to Germany). Helenius’ father Kalle will reportedly now train his son in place of legendary coach/trainer Wegner.

Former middleweight champion Dmitry Pirog (20-0, 15KOs) is ready to resume his career. Pirog's activity has taken a big hit due to injuries. He gave up his WBO title to accept a fight with WBA champion Gennady Golovkin, but withdrew after injuring his back. The problems continued to bother him in the comings months. He last fought in May 2012, winning a twelve round decision over Nobuhiro Ishida.
Pirog says the injuries are now fully headled and he plans to travel over to the United States to discuss his future. Pirog was promoted in the United States by Banner Promotions, but he never disclosed on who he plans to meet with.

Shame what happened to Dmitry Pirog. I'm hoping he can come back and knock the black off of Peter Quillin like he did to Jacobs. And as you know, a long layoff especially coming back from an injury can change a fighter.
