I am finally starting to to realize just how awesome UFC is! GSP is my new favorite fighter. He is ripped and has awesome quickness and power. Beat Penn!

GSP is one of the best athletes in the UFC (bar none). He's quicker with better gas than BJ Penn, and he's a better wrestler & better (all-around) striker. Penn's only advantage is BJJ & flexibility. I hope GSP KO's that ego-maniac Penn in the 1st round.

BTW, I'd rate Lesnar as the most athletic Heavyweight...his functional strength and explosiveness are off the chart (not to mention he ran a 4.6 40 yard dash for the Vikings...at 285 lbs!).

GSP could get a shot at Anderson Silva down the line. That fight could be huuuuge. No doubt in my mind Lesnar is the most athletic hw. No one is near him.

I'm going to a local bar to watch with friends. GSP should pull it out and might even stop Penn late.

I am doing the same thing Liverlips is doing. There is a huge sports bar about twenty five minutes away from me that specializes in mixed drinks and wings. Me and several of my friends are going this Saturday night to watch the ppv.

Great news guys i am in the process of trying to convince my friend to buy it,.I saw a show on the lead up to the fight and it mentioned GSP had to work part time as a garbage man to pay for his his MMA schooling. I respect Penn as a fighter but i cannot stnd his personailty. I think thats why GSP appeals to me. He is a hard worker who is an explosive athlete.

I got the Affliction PPV last weekend, so will probably catch UFC 94 at Hooters ("free") with some pals of min. It's rare I "get out" these days...save for a few college football games & UFC PPVs.

Looks like GSP has landed a gatorade deal!I cant remember the last time i was excited about an athlete getting a Gatorade deal! Is Gatordae sure they want a strong willed athletic white guy promoting their product? Anyways here's the article:

GSP's Gatorade deal hits the U.S.

Can Georges St-Pierre work up Americans' thirst for Gatorade?</DD></DL>
<DIV =sp-clear>
When it was announced in March that Georges St-Pierre had signed an endorsement deal with Gatorade Canada, observers pegged it as a major step forward in MMA's "mainstream" market acceptance. As with Caol Uno and his Nike sponsorship in Japan, though, it didn't feel all that tangible to U.S. fans. (Let's face it: We're an insulated, self-involved culture. If it's not happening here, it's not happening.)

But if you are willing to crack open the new issue of Rolling Stone -- and can suffer the indignity of buying a magazine with a Jonas brothers cover -- you might be pleased to see a two-page spread for Gatorade's "G" campaign featuring St-Pierre decked out in green trunks. He's not identified by name, but it's an obvious signal that blue-chip companies are willing to acknowledge the sport's sizable influence and its ability to arrest the attention of key demographics.

"Georges' relationship with Gatorade has recently expanded into the U.S., where he will be featured in a national print campaign launching July 1 that includes Rolling Stone and outdoor advertising in the New York City and Los Angeles markets," St-Pierre's manager, Shari L. Spencer, told ESPN.com. "We're excited that this relationship now reaches his fans in the U.S. as well as in Canada, and we're proud to be part of the Gatorade team."

Why this pleases me, I'm not sure -- probably because St-Pierre, like so many others before him, didn't get into MMA with designs on becoming a spoiled athlete. Considering the faint pulse of the sport at the time of his 2002 debut, it was just as likely he'd soon have to consider an alternative career. That he's now cashing checks based on a love of something he might have done for free? It just seems fair. Take the risk, reap the rewards.
