After seeing John Lynch play (sparingly) in the Patriots game I got to thinking: What active white players will have a shot at Canton? Here are a few that will definitely make it, and some that have a shot, just some names for your consideration.

Sorry, my internet is acting funny! This list is by no means complete. I've got pen and paper next to me with at least 5 more candidates on the way!

I think Zach Thomas will make it too. Brooking would have to play at a very high level for several more years, which will be tough to do.

Alan Faneca is close to HOF status. Aaron Kampman may have a chance if he keeps going strong. He was held back by being forced to go through the NFL's whites-only apprenticeship program for two seasons.

What's striking is how few white candidates there are. The NFL Hall of Fame is going to be an overwhelmingly black thing for many years to come.

In the NFL most of our HOF guys are quarterbacks. Thats the cost of having so few players at most other positions other than the offensive line and tight end.

That's what hit me too

. It's kind of upsetting how few athletes (especially non-quarterbacks) came to my mind right away.
