Fastest White High School Kids of All Time

I wanted to start with some older guys from the past that ran these times in high school. Many did not run track in college or become
a professional as we always lose some of our best men to other mainstream sports. All of these guys are in the fastest high school kids
of all time regardless of race but I'm just focusing on the white high school sprinters.

John Lampert — 10.20 seconds​

Few athletes in Texas history have been as big, as fast and as talented as Wylie High's John Lampert.
Lampert was 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds as a senior when he reeled off a 10.20-second time in the 100-meter dash. He was also the state long-jump champion as a junior and senior when he recorded the top long jump mark for a high schooler in the country.
Lampert's future wasn't on the track — he ended up playing college football in the Big Ten for Purdue, where he converted from safety to linebacker.

James Reese 10.15​

High school: Mansfield High School (Mansfield, Texas)
100-meter dash time: 10.15
Year: 1990
James Reese's first love was football, but a knee injury just weeks before his senior season forced him to turn his total focus to track and field.
The extra focus helped Reese drop his time in the 200-meter dash from 22.9 seconds as a junior to 20.9 seconds as a senior in 1990 when he also reeled off his 10.15-second 100-meter mark.
Reese's emergence in track earned him a scholarship from national power University of Arkansas, but shortly after he signed, he severely injured his knee at the Texas state track meet.

Number 1 All Time on the High School List even though it was wind aided.

Matthew Boling 9.98W .10.11 and 20.58​

High school: Strake Jesuit College Prep (Houston, Texas)
100-meter dash times: 9.98, 10.11, 10.13, 10.15
Year: 2019

Matthew Boling grabbed the national spotlight when he ran the fastest 100-meter dash recorded by a high school sprinter at the Texas Region 6A-3 meet on April 27, 2019, clocking in at a blazing, 9.98 seconds.
Boling ran four of the fastest 100-meter dash times in high school history in 2019 on the way to being named Gatorade National Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Boling is currently a sophomore at the University of Georgia and won a national title in the 200-meter dash at the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2021 and another 200 meter National Championship in 2023.

I found another guy that I believe is white but i'm not sure so if anyone can let me know it was from 1994.

Ray Rocuchea 10.00

There aren't many records of Ray Rocuchea's track career aside from the spot he holds atop the official Illinois High School Association record books with a blazing, 10-second-flat 100-meter dash in 1994.
There's actually no record of Rocuchea's track career beyond Thornridge High School — even for someone who participated in high school sports over 25 years ago, that's pretty unusual.

The Fastest Indoor High School Sprinter over 60 Meters to this day is still the legendary

Casey Combest 6.57 and 10.31

Casey Combest, who is student at Owensboro High School
High School, 100 miles west of Louisville, Kentucky has won five state sprint
titles and set the national high school indoor record for 60
meters. Last year he helped the U.S. 4 x 100 team to a silver
medal in the world junior championships with a hand-timed leg of
10.1. His fastest official time in the 100 meters is 10.34.

After Combest won his first national indoor title, in the 60
meters in 1998, no less an authority than Carl Lewis said, "I
have been running track for over 20 years, and he has one of the
best starts I have ever seen. The sky is the limit for [him]."
On March 14 in Columbus, Ohio, Combest set the national high
school indoor mark for 60 meters with a 6.57. It was the 10th
fastest time in the world to that point in 1999, and afterward
former 100-meter world-record holder Leroy Burrell called
Combest's performance "fundamentally perfect." Two weeks later
Tennessee's Leonard Scott won the NCAA Division I national
60-meter title with a time of 6.58.

We can now in 2023 add Brody Buffington to this amazing list. He ran a wind legal 10.15 today which ties him with James Reese
from many decades ago. This time of 10.15 +0.6 wind was just amazing. I hope he can even go faster. Buffington is commited
on scholarship to the University of Georgia. Good Landing Spot for this fantastic young sprinter.

Can anybody find out if Richmond Flowers ever ran the 100-meter dash? I know he ran the 100 yd dash in 9.8 in high school, but I can't find anything on whether he ran the 100 meters. Thanks.

Richmond Flowers ran 10.4 100m in 1967.

We will add Gatlin Bair to the list but I figured I would wait till the end of the season to see if he drops his amazing
personal bests over both 100 & 200 meters! His times alrealdy are legendary. He has a 200 like Jeremy Wariner back
in his indoor high school days.

Incredible athletic with great family support...hopefully he'll survive the brainwashing of Joe Smith followers.

Gatlin Bair definitely belongs on this list. He ran 10.15 this past weekend.
That puts him equal to Brody Buffington, who also ran 10.15 earlier this year.
The only high schooler who has run faster, is Matthew Boling, who ran 10.11 in 2019.

Bair is really incredible, because he only really started fully focusing on track this year, and the results have been tremendous!
He's just a junior, so would love to see how he can progress.
Unfortunately he has said that he will skip his senior year of track. So we may never know how fast he could be. But perhaps this year's success will make him rethink his decision.
Either way, he is definitely one of the fastest high school sprinters ever.
I would love to see him go head to head with Buffington. It would be a very good and close race!
I think he runs again next week at the Idaho High School Championships. Let's see if he can improve his already amazing time!
