Here's another story that is only possible in the dying evil empire:

Former WNBA star and Olympic gold medalist Chamique Holdsclaw was indicted by a Fulton County (Ga.) grand jury on Wednesday for a November altercation with her ex-girlfriend, Tulsa Shock forward Jennifer Lacy. Holdsclaw, 35, faces six total counts: two charges of aggravated assault, one count of criminal damage in the first degree, two counts of criminal damage in the second degree and one count of possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to police, Holdsclaw fired a gun into a vehicle Nov. 13 while Lacy was in it. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she eventually turned herself in. She was later released on $100,000 bond. Holdsclaw is being represented by the same law firm that represented former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis in a trial related to two murders in 2000.

It has also represented Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Adam "Pacman" Jones. Lawyer Ed Garland said Holdsclaw will plead not guilty. "Our position is that she is not guilty of having committed any assault upon Ms. Lacy," Garland told USA TODAY Sports Wednesday. "The events occurred after an emotional situation between the two of them. She did assault the car itself and damage the car with the baseball bat and firing the gun; however, there was no assault on Ms. Lacy. "We expect to negotiate a proper resolution to this matter with the district attorney's office." Holdsclaw began her professional career with the Washington Mystics in 1999, and also played for the Los Angeles Sparks, Atlanta Dream and San Antonio Silver Stars. She retired in 2010. (end of story)

Let's put aside the extremely distasteful aspect of a relationship between these two. Let's also put aside the fact that she is represented by Ray Lewis' lawyers, which probably means she's looking at some serious community service (that she will never do) when this is all said and done.

WHY is it that no one, not a single sports writer, or anyone else, asks the question: how improper it is to have people that are romantically linked playing on the same sports team?

When you consider what a poison this can be to the make up of a team, how it can effect who gets passes, who gets plays, who gets special treatment, everything antithetical to what a "team" is all about. There is a reason that married or even dating people are not allowed to work together at most companies. This type of thing has trouble written all over it.

What also goes unsaid in all this is how prevalent it must be. Most of the women at that level are homos. How can one take seriously a league that must operate like a co-ed softball team full of cliques and couples, jealousy and envy and revenge. What is even worse is most of the coaches are queer and it turns out they get involved with players. How screwed up is that for "fairness"?

With the queer agenda coming to mens sports soon it should be a priority that leagues prohibit relationships between players. It's sickening to think about. But that's how it's going to end up.

It also appears that Jennifer Lacy was a no-talent POA probably carried by the team to satisfy Holdsclaws perversions. (at least she isn't white). She should get some kind of award for time spent with that she-beast. (Lacy is on the left)

Former WNBA star..

"Former WNBA star".. /laughter/
there is no such animal as a WNBA "star".

To JaxVids' point, I have noticed more keenly since joining CF, that there is a DWF code of silence. It exists within the (predominately White) sports media & on it's periphary (guys who call in to sports talk radio, DWFs who publicly talk & blog sports).
It's about the general downplaying of Black athletes' sordid private lives (or an absence of scrutiny), while talking up the negative gossip surrounding White athletes.

Black athletes do have their sins reported.. but it's usually done w/a caveat. Vick tortured & killed dogs, BUT it was part of the culture he grew up in.. Ray Lewis was investigated for murder & charged with obstructing justice BUT he can't be expected to account for everyone in his posse'.
When Blacks make bigoted remarks about gays, they're just 'young', when Whites express the same sentiment they presented as Nazis.., etc, etc.
I actually dont care what these dopes are usually doing off the field, unless it's a threat to public safety,.. but I am tired of the hypocrisy in the alternate DWF universe we now inhabit..

"CHAMIQUE".. her parent should be slapped.
