On a personal level these wild black girls names--ie: Laqueisha etc. annoys me for some reason. It says to me and I could be wrong that "I have a black name and don't ever confuse me with whites" kind of attitude. So here we have Epiphanny(what kind of friggen name is that?) Prince out of New York City scoring 113 points in a high school blowout 137-32.
Does the word classless all around come to mind. Scout.com in the girls hoops section slams the whole thing as greedy and unsportsmanlike etc. In a close game sure. But this was a sick display of greed and whole lot of other things. Most of the blame has been placed on the coaches but the girl should take some reposibility too don't you think? I remember Lisa Leslie scored a ton (100) I think for her high school team. She still strikes me as a jerk to this day.
None of this should be surprising when you look at the grade A jerks running around ie: Artest, Moss, Owens etc.

I wish one of the girls on the other teams would have kicked her ass.A few hard fouls wouldn't have hurt either. What a show off.We are in the me generation.

The weird thing is she was 57 of 60 from the floor and was only fouled once. It seems the other girls were scared of her.Edited by: white lightning

If she had got her butt kicked, maybe that would have been her "epiphanny". It must hurt some of these young black people to get a job and be taken seriously with some of these ridiculous names black parents give their children.

People used to knock LeBron because he only averaged 29 or 30 points a game in high school, not even leading in PPG among Cleveland area schools, but he knows how to use his teammates. This girl obviously takes no lessons from someone like LBJ to pass the damn ball. Then again if she was 57 of 60 from the field, the coach is more to blame than the player for keeping her in so long.

From what I read, the other team quit playing any kind of defense in the second half. Almost all of this girl's field goals were uncontested layups.

Has there been a "names" thread? I agree with Sunshine. It also smacks of a cheap way to be special. Not to mention the violence done to the language. I would like to see a list of all the variant spellings of Tamika for instance. My personal favorite name is that of former USC tailback "Estrus" Crayton. Mom might have wanted to look that one up first.

I don't know if they have a special section on black girls names, but there are some humdingers in there. My personal pet peeves are names with spaces or apostrophes in them (i.e.: Ja' Roi) or mispellings of normal names (Madisinn, Meshell, etc)

My personal pet peave is Michael spelled Micheal. I have noticed several blacks who spell it that way. How ignorant and/or stupid these people are!
