Eduard Troyanovsky

Troyanovsky won the IBF 140 title today. Eduard has some nice boxing skills, his opponent is very elusive yet he was catching him with good shots. Troya reminds me a lot of Victor Postol.

Nice thread Charlie. Sometimes we forget to follow these other guys. He's a bit old to be really getting going (35) but he has really good skill and power. Watch his footwork in the video below, especially his old school lateral shifts to avoid counters while attacking (a message I would like to get to Kovalev somehow).

Tomorrow in Russia:

Eduard Troyanovsky (25-0) vs. Julius Indongo (20-0) for IBF and IBO titles.

Fight is about to start. Troya is one of my favorite fighters, he has very good skills and he always goes for the early KO.

This is terrible. I was expecting Troya to fight Crawford in the near future and beat him. Now he will have to fight his way back up. I am so disgusted right now.

First round knockouts are like ambushes, sneak attacks. He should have been leery of one. A hometown loss like this is worse than one on the road. But, he's a fighter not a ballet dancer, he'll fight back, whatever it takes, and be greater for it.

Here's the video for anyone interested. I'm not that tore up over it. Not like I would have been back in the day when there were not near as many white boxers doing as well as so many are today. The replay is interesting because it shows the KO wasn't a case of a punch he didn't see coming.
