I'm on my way to Cleveland after being in New England for Thanksgiving. Pretty depressing in both cities there. Cleveland has some good points and a strong health care industry and biotechnology(why I'm there), but is otherwise weak. It had lots of manufacturing, but is rapidly losing any that is has retained. It is becoming a city of haves and have-nots.

New Bedford and Fall River(both in MA) have been rotting away since, well arguably Reconstruction. But now they are so bad and there largest industry by far is probably welfare(although the scallop ports are strong in New Bedford.) They are almost harbingers of the rest of America to come. Gangs and thugs roaming the streets , while corrupt homosexuals dominate the government. Providence isn't much better is and for years was so bad that people came to appreciate the strong mafia(Patriarca Family) in the city.
