This track meet in Germany on August 2nd will be the last major meet in Germany before the World Champs in Berlin. The mens 100 will have guys like M.Brunson, Mark Jelks,Kim Collins, Ramil Guliyev, Tobias Unger, Stefan Schwab and a few others. Wow is this going to be special. We just might see a sub 10 before Berlin. Both Unger and Guliyev could push each other to new heights. Brunson, Collins, and Jelks are world class so it will be a five way race. Maybe even Stefan can set a new p.b. as well. This better be on the internet somewhere to watch it live. I can't wait. It's a little over two weeks away but I had to post it. I'm pumped. If only we could get two more of our favorites in the lineup. Lemaitre and Pickering. Just imagane if both Unger and Guliyev both went sub 10 in the same race. Double history on the same day after all these years. Let's hope for great weather. Here is the link talking about the race.

I really hope Rocket Ramil turns heads that day.

This is the meet albinosprint. I will be just as pumped for next weekend. Tobias Unger is ready to bust out a new p.b. as well. I belive that even Arnaldo Abrantes is running there along with all of the german stars. Man do I wish Chistian Blum wouldn't have got hurt. He had a great indoor season and he would have been in the mix outdoors pushing for that sub 10 as well.

Ramil Guliyev is going to make a statement in the mens 100 here! He will be ready!Edited by: white lightning

If Guliyev or Lemaitre ever run with a wind behind them...I'm curious to see what Unger and Schwab can do.

sweet! rocket is going to PR, I just know it!

In addition to this meet in Germany on Sunday, there is also another smaller meet on Friday in Germany as well. Christian Blum who just ran a 10.28 a couple of days ago will be competing. I'm hoping for another strong race in his road back from the major injury. He will be racing at the 2009 Bayerische Meisterschaften Meet. As great as Tobias Unger is, Blum before he got hurt was destroying him indoors among many of the best sprinters on the planet. If only he would not have gotten hurt, he might be in the sub 10.10 category as well.

I still doubt he can make it back in time for Berlin but I'm hoping for a miracle. I will tell you one thing though. No one is going to want to face him in 2010. He will be running with a chip on his shoulder due to what happened this year. He will be in the thick of things next season for sure barring another serious injury. Good luck on Friday Christian. I hope you can shock everyone including me as to how fast you can get back in the type of shape needed to compete.

if he drops a good time, could he still be selected for Berlin? didn't the Germans have their National Championships? it would be great if he still can make it.

I'm sure they would make an exception for him because of the injury and all of his training & racing time missed. If he can prove his fitness, he should be in Berlin in the individual team. Still a long shot but a chance. Come on Christian.

The complete starting list for the men & the women. Just about everyone is here except for Robert Herring as far as Germany is concerned. Even Christain Blum is in the mens 100! This will be one exciting meet to watch. Here is the link to the list.

I would love to watch this meet.

Ramil didn't run, and Unger ran quite slow.
The only thing of note is that Martin Keller ran 10.15 (w2.3)

Here is some videos of a few of the races. My girl Verena Sailer ran a 11.11 but the wind was too strong. She is so beautiful. The mens 100 was very fast but it wouldn't have mattered with the wind being too strong. I wonder what happened with Ramil Please tell me he didn't get hurt in training? Nice run by Keller despite it not counting. Something for him to build on.

nice win for sailer! Blum did not look good in the 100, but Keller had some nice closing speed. I really hope the rocket isn't hurt.

I thought Christian Blum looked ok until around 60-70 meters. Then he just had nothing left. The legs are not there. I knew it would take a minor miracle for him to make it back in time for Berlin. That injury cost him his dream to run in front of his country at the World Champs. He has to be taking it even harder than Pickering. Blum will be back next year. You can count on it. I guarantee it. He is very talented and I still think that Blum and Herring are the future. Hopefully Keller, Schwab and a few others will step it up as well in the coming years. Unger is just getting very old. I can't see him being around for London in 2012.
