Is it ironic that Direct TV recently dropped Versus which televises Ivy League and Mountain West telecasts and was scheduled to air UFL telecasts. The UFL is the new league starting next month that will feature white NFL outcasts such as Adam Archuleta and David Kircus. Would love to read everyones' reaction to this.

My watered down version of DirecTV only gets about 20 channels, but I keep seeing commercials asking people to call Comcast and tell them to bring back Versus.

When I go to Versus, DirecTV has the following statement: "Comcast, our largest competitor, has forced us to pull down this channel. Comcast charges us fees to air Versus, and they are now demanding an unfair and outrageous increase in those fees. In these difficult economic times, we do not want to pass this increase on to you, our valued customer, so we are standing firm in the negotiations on your behalf."

I will be very unhappy if I can't watch the NHL on Versus this season, enough toswitch to Comcast if need be.Edited by: Don Wassall

Ditto. I still have Versus and I got it so I could watch the NHL games and the WEC.

Good point on the WEC. I enjoy their "Wreckage" programs and big fight cards. Versus also shows some college football games & rodeo. We have Comcast, so we'll retain Versus (for now).

I wasn't even aware that DirecTV had dropped VS. until I came across this thread. **** Comcast. Now I will be stuck with MASN (and the Caps) when I want my hockey fix. [):(]
