We got another name to keep an eye on. It may only be one race but this kid barely turned 19 years old and he just ran a new national record of 10.16 wind legal. This is a great break through and it came at the national championships. I haven't had the chance to see this fine young sprinter race yet but he has easily qualified for the World Champs in Moscow running under the A Standard Time. The reason I'm so excited is because of how young he is. Lemaitre was a little faster at the same age but not by too much. Bulgaria looks like it finally has a young male sprinter to root for. Congrats to Denis and I look forward to keeping a close eye on this kid as he progresses!

Come on guys. Show some love for Dimitrov. He is only 19 and he just ran faster than almost any European Sprinter this season so far. This kid could be a big star. Let's follow some of these guys more closely. As I've said many times, Lemaitre needs some company and other than Gemeli, we need some new names to step up their level of performance. This guy could be another Borzov. You never know. I know it's only one race but it's a hell of a start and he is still a teenager.
 
Hey WL. I do not know much about this Dimitrov kid but thank the lord we have so much potential talent out there. Gemili, Lemaitre, Guliyev, Reus, amagata, Kiryu, Zhang, Bitian Su, and Tumi to name a few.
What ever happened to Rytas Sakaulaskas? He had the talent to go sub ten this year. His injury should have been healed by now.

I haven't heard any news about Saukalauskas. Hopefully he will hit the track soon as it's almost July. He is very talented but like Guliyev
and Lemaitre he needs to improve his start. I too am happy that we are starting to see a lot of young up and comers hitting the scene. We will see some more sub 10's from our guys before too long. The first one is always the hardest. These guys need to believe in themselves. The mental aspect of sprinting is not talked about nearly enough. Confidence is king.
 
We have to see other few race of this young sprinter and i hope this race wasn't only a good race in a season. BTW i'm from Romania,Bulgaria is our Neighbour:D Honestly i dont see reus or tumi going sub 10 because they dont have that natural speed like lemaitre or gemili. I hope this young Neighbour will be a top sprinter in few years
 
This has probably been discused before but I was trying to find Dimitrov's race on youtube and came across the results of the Bulgarian National championships. It turns out the next two top finishers ran in the 10.3 range. Not incredible but just weird considering the size of the country.
With all the white participants in track in America why can we only get one or two guys a year to post a sub 10.4 or better. Its a shame we only have Dallas Burroughs, Shane Crawford and maybe Joe Fisher putting up these times. Is it because whites play more than one sport and do not focus on track in this country or i there another reason. I am all ears.
 
Yes it's mainly because of the other sports that are more popular with whites and also scholastics/music take potential talent away too. Many whites have a lot more options due to their grades and pursuit of many different interests where blacks on average go into track, football or basketball. If whites only played these three sports they would be represented on a way higher percentage even with the caste system.


I did notice that Rytis opened his season a couple of days ago with a time of 10.61 which is pathetic.
