Here are some recent choice comments made by Dana White about Fedor and Tim Sylvia.

About Fedor: "He's not the best pound for pound fighter, not even close, but he's one of the four or five best heavyweights in the world.
" But we all have to think him for getting rid of Tim Sylvia, He'd been stinking out the joint the last couple of years and Fedor did everyone a favor by beating him so easily and getting rid of him.

Really Dana, Fedor is "not even close" to being the best pound for pound fighter in the world. No he actually is the best fighter period and I am tired of the whole pfp thing anyway. Don't know what his personal gripe with Tim Sylvia is besides what he stated but Dana is not as easy to like as he used to be. His ego is bigger than his huge bank account now. I bet he wouldn't be saying that stuff about Fedor if he had signed with the UFC. I understand being loyal to your company and brand but be honest too, the true knowledgeable MMA fan can see right through all this crapola. The UFC is my favorite but they are no longer the only game in town.

Of course he wouldn't say that about Fedor if he were with the UFC. The problem is if Dana says 'Fedor is the best fighter on the planet,' the next time Fedor fights for Affliction or anybody else the first thing they'll say is 'the man who UFC President Dana White says is the best fighter on the planet!' Bad for business, imo, and it also disparages the fighters he has in his stable.

And he wouldn't say that about Sylvia if he were still with the UFC, either.

The guy is a businessman first and foremost, and he's pushing his company's product. Dana could speak with a little more class and his comments could be less provocative though, that's for sure.

Of course, he doesn't have to say that Fedor is the best fighter on the planet although it's obviously true. But the "not even close" comment smacks of the ridicoulous and he loses a little bit of his credibilty saying stupid stuff like that.The UFC is successful enough and still growing at a exponential rate, Dana can afford to speak more honestly and with more class without really hurting his company in any way noticeable. He's been very good for the sport of MMA and he's the face of the company to a large degree which is amazing in itself, I give him full props for that. However, he has been getting booed lately at events so some MMA fans are getting tired of his ever growing ego. He's still a very interesting person and one of the five guys in the world I would like to sit down at a table with and listen to his stories and engage in conversation.

Really Dana White? Why don't you list the few fighters you would consider ahead of Fedor for us to get a good laugh?

Fedor has lost once from a TKO (cut) and has dominated many of the top name heavyweights in the world. Dana is in denial. PAY FEDOR WHAT HE WANTS DANA YOU MORON!

His loss wasnt a real loss, his cut was from a illegal move, but they couldnt put a disfalication, so they needed to put a loss to Fedor because he was unable to continue..

In addition to being a foul-mouthed ego-maniac, Dana's now pandering to the "Pink Mafia".Calling someone a ****got is now the new "N word"??! I personally am not bothered by either one, but White's bowing down to the Sodomites. How hypocritical...he has no issue with with incessently turning the air blue, but dare not insult the vermin sodomite.

The UFC's current structure will not last long-term. There is far too much control of the fighters through their ridiculous business model.

Mind you, the boxing business model is far from perfect, and historians may view the boxing business model as a victim of its own success/greed.

There surely must be a good middle ground.

I am not saying you are wrong, Ibanez. However, all the business models previously in the UFC led them to near bankruptcy but the current business model is raking in hundreds of millions, tv contracts and instant stardom for certain MMA fighters. They seem to be prospering with no seeming end to that prosperity in sight.

You are totally correct in your statement 301-- my viewpoint is not that the model doesn't make money for the organization-- it surely does! The serious problem is that the fighters are strictly controlled and do not make any money whatsoever. Most of the fighters live hand to mouth, yet it is the mid to low level fighters that fill out all of the UFC cards
