Here's a couple articles that note that Luepke may or can be used some as a runner by the Cowboys:

It’s looking pretty good for the Majestic Beast in Dallas as their running back room is pretty thin. Hopefully it works out. The dumbsh@t author in the 2nd link brings up Hunters 150 against South Dakota but not his 180 yards against a tough pac 12 defense in Arizona pathetic!

Undrafted Rookie WR David Durden is the type of talent had he not been sidetracked by baseball ; he could have played at an SEC school like Auburn or UGA.

Durden's pic is too large to post of course....

Role Call: Durden's Path from Baseball, D-2 to NFL

How He Got Here: Certainly not the usual route to the NFL, but Durden's journey included stops at Mercer and West Florida playing football, along with a season of minor league baseball. What he brings to the table is a sure-handed receiver that caught 88 passes for nearly 2,000 yards in his two seasons at West Florida, a Division II school. Durden also tied the school record with 23 touchdowns in those two seasons.

What's Next:: Like all undrafted free agents, Durden will have his work cut out for him, just to make the practice squad and especially the 53-man roster. But one of the best ways to do that is to have a presence on special teams. He does have some kick-return experience but he's going to have to show the willingness and ability to cover kicks as well. As a receiver, it's a stacked group of not only experienced vets such as Lamb, Cooks and Gallup at the top, but a large group of hungry receivers behind them looking for spots such as Tolbert, Fehoko, Turpin and Houston, not to mention the four other rookie receivers along with Durden. But camp is long and the preseason games tend to matter as well. If he can make plays on a consistent basis, that's how you work up the depth chart.

Bet You Didn't Know: Durden was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2017 and spent one season in the minor leagues, playing in the Florida Complex League. He played 30 games, battled .220 with nine RBIs and a .311 on-base percentage.

Durden and Luepke make Dallas all that more interesting to follow this season.

Obviously he had to be humble but it sounds like they are preparing him for blocking and special teams. It wasn’t like they spoke about his vision or running ability or oily hips or whatever other bs abilities whitey lacks.

Don’t see how you guys can stomach watching this. It seems to me it’s like a humiliation ritual.

Actually there's been a lot of talk about using him as a receiver and short yardage runner, and occasionally as a running back who does more than just run at the goal line. Who knows how it'll unfold as this is the NFL and the worst often happens, but your description is not the consensus on how Luepke is being viewed early on.

Also, there's a Luepke thread, which is where articles and discussion about him should go.

LVE just released, possibly (likely) retiring, and likely due to the dirty blindside block/hit Trent Williams laid on him
