Kudos to Roger Clemens for being so good at 43 but Chellie will turn 44 in January. Pitching is a specialized skill done every 5 days, playing defense in the NHL means skating up and down the ice for several minutes at a time, and half the time doing it backwards! He also plays on the penalty killing unit. For thoses of you that have played or still play I would rank Chelios as an athlete along with Lance Armstrong (with a fraction of the publicity).

Chelios has been incredibly durable while playing a very tough style of defense. He should be a lot better known, but that's been true of every hockey player with the exception of Gretzky.
