Saskatchewan is expecting big things from Eric Morris JC. There's an article linked by draftdaddy on it. They are going to use him like Percy Harvin at Florida. He will play WR and also run the ball a bit. They may also use him in the wildcat and also as a return man- so he could be a quadruple threat!

i read that, Tough. that's great news!

also, Jesse Lumsden is being hyped a lot. a lot of people expect him to lead the league in rushing ... if he can stay healthy.

Sadly, Todd Blythe was released by the Riders. However they still have a majority white receiving corps (5/7).

They also signed Justin Beaver to the practice roster.

The Roughriders are looking good at receiver, Dressler looked good, Fantuz looked good, Eric Morris looked good as a returner. Their quarterback is horrible, so many turnovers. I dont know if that is usual for the CFL but there were alot of turnovers in one game.Edited by: dwid

It's not usual at all.

Jesse Lumsden injured

Some analysts are calling for him to retire.

Texas Tech's Harrell heading to the CFL...

REGINA, Saskatchewan - Graham Harrell is headed to the Canadian Football League.

The record-setting Texas Tech quarterback signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday.

Harrell is the NCAA Division I career leader in touchdown passes but wasn't drafted by the NFL. His workout with the Cleveland Browns did not result in a contract.

Harrell had to fight the perception that his numbers were the product of Texas Tech's offensive system and he didn't have the arm strength to succeed in the NFL.

The Roughriders are already two games into their season and have three quarterbacks on their roster. Their starter is former North Carolina quarterback Darian Durant, who had only four career CFL starts coming into the season.

how is it that tavaris jackson can play in the nfl but graham harrel cant.

You call that incompetent performance " playing", I call it struggling, grouping, and grossly ineffective.

Just saw that Weston Dressler and Ben Cahoon are in second and third place in the CFL for receiving yardage this year. After that though there is a disturbingly NFL-esque dropoff in white receivers.

referendum, thanks for the info! The next ranked white WR is Saskatchewan's Rob Bagg at 15.

I just took a look at the rushing leaders and Hamilton QB Quinton Porter is 10th in the league in rushing. The next whites are BC QB Buck Pierce at 15, then Edmonton QB Ricky Ray at 18 and Winnepeg QB Stefan LeFors at 20. Winnepeg WR Brock Ralph is 23 and Saskatchewan WR Weston Dressler at 28.

The mostly white Saskatchewan Roughriders battled to a 44-44 tie with the Calgary Stampeders! These teams are tied on top of the West now with identical 8-6-1 records.

White Receiver Andy Fantuz led the way for the Riders with 10 receptions for 149 yards (!!!!!!) and a Touchdown.

Andy Fantuz is simply a joy to watch, as he dominates affletes with his superior size, strength and athleticism. He is unstoppable.

White Fullback Chris Szarka got a few goal line carries and ended up with 3 (!!!) Rushing touchdowns in the game.

The Roughriders top 5 receivers for the game were all white (!!!).

White tailback Stu Foord had 3 carries for 27 yards.

What a stark contrast between the white-friendly Roughriders and the coal black Stampeders. The only white player for Calgary who touched the ball on offense was white Fullback Rob Cote who had a catch for 6 yards and a TD.

It's no wonder the Roughriders are (by far) the most popular football team in Canada.

Here are some cool links to check out

Andy Fantuz Highlights, 10 catches 149 yards, 1 TD
