UGA commit...Bolles School (FL) OT Brent Benedict. He's 6'5, 280 & runs a 5.0 40 y/d with a 30" vertical. He's rated the #5 OL by Rivals. He's actually gotten some good press by recruting analysts...

Rivals' Barry Evrey, one of the sharper analysts in the game, raved about Benedict, who is rated the No. 5 offensive tackle by his organization and the ninth-best by scout.com.....

"He's one of the most athletic big men that I've ever seen. Period,"Â￾ Evrey said. "He's got a 30-inch vertical jump and off the line of scrimmage he is a legitimate 5.0 or faster. He can fly. Georgia does not have anyone [among the linemen] on the team who is this athletic."Â￾

Quite an admission by the rivals analyst there. Interesting stuff. Hopefully this kid will do great things in Athens.

Heath Benedict who was a highly touted offensive linemen from Newberry was his older brother. I hope Brent has a long and very healthy football career. His brothers life ended way too soon.
