Perhaps a peripheral discussion, but it never seems to be brought up. Black americans depend almost totally on the other races for every off field function. They rarely thank them, though.
If black americans were forced to rely on themselves they would not get very far. This is probably the main reason that black african nations are not very good at many sports, and small nations in europe can dominate them in soccer and basketball.
