Annika and Justine

Damn, I just surfed over to SI.com only to see two different stories announcing the retirement at the end of this year of the best female tennis player, Justine Henin, and the best golfer, Annika Sorenstam. Henin is 25, Sorenstam 37. There's something to be said about retiring at or near the top of your game, but these are both unexpected bombshells. Both are great athletes andoutstanding role models. Very sad news.

I will miss Justine Henin. She had the sweetest one handed backhand that she hit with precision and power that I have ever seen, male or female. Hopefully in a couple of years she will be back. It was fun watching this very small but compact little lady routinely beat the Williams sisters these past couple of years. But God bless her in her retirement, may she bring several white children into the world. Which I hear is one of her main reasons for retirement, to have a family and settle down.
