Americans Getting Fatter But Not Taller

According to this article, Americans stopped growing 50 years ago and have now been caught in height by the Japanese, which is startling:


In yet another blow to its global ego, the United States must now face the fact that it no longer grows the world's tallest people ... In a recent New Yorker article by Burkhard Bilger, "Why Europeans are getting taller â€â€￾ and Americans aren't." He found that after World War II the Dutch were, on average, four inches, or 10 centimeters, shorter than the average American ... The United States stopped growing in height around 1955, says Bilger, while the Dutch, the Germans and other Europeans were quietly putting on two centimeters per decade. Now even the Japanese have caught up with the Americans. The Northern Europeans, led by the Dutch, are now some three inches taller than average Americans.

I'm 5'6'' or 5'7''. Who cares how tall we are as a nation? I think that 5'10'' to 6'4'' is the healthy zone of heights for men. It really is not the big issue. The big issue isn't even the Mexican invasion. The big issue is all the kids that the Mexicans have.

From what I have seen at supermarkets there is reason why Americans and to a lesser extent Canadians are getting wider and not taller. I don't know anybody but workout freaks that eat properly...

It's like boxed food are staples for the average consumer. Even yuppies just buy fancier boxed foods. The lower you go down the socio-economic scale the worse the food choices. Once you get down to the welfare class potato chips qualify as the vegetable servings that you need a day.....

In all seriousness, I believe that Third World immigration is indeed lowering our national 'average height, among other things. We're not the same people we were in 1955, that's for sure.

GWTJ & White Shogun, good points indeed. There's no doubt that non-whites from "turd world" countries (& I do count "Meckyco" as such) are driving down our average height (as well as our economy). I'm 6'8 and my kids are tall too, so I might venture to guess most whites are still "average" height.

P.S. - We can thank the Globalists (who puppeteer both party's "leadership") for their agenda of selling out U.S. borders, sovereignty & culture for the mass inundation of invaders from foreign soil!

I'd like to see White Americans get taller-but I'am happy for the Dutch to keep growing taller and they seem to do well in the World's Strongest Man Contests-Ted Van der Parre from Holland won the contest some years ago.Ted is 7' 350lbs. White American parents need to feed there kids more protien and less junk food.
