In Germany today we had some good results except from Yannick Wolf. I think the nerves got to him after his 10.05 last week unless he was slightly injured. I didn't get to watch the race so I can't say for sure. Now for some of the other german sprinters.
Kevin Kranz 10.16 +0.3 wind
Heiko Gussmann (21 years old) 10.17 +0.3 wind after running a wind legal 10.15 last weekend. This kid is a legitimate talent!
Julian Wagner 10.18 +1.4
Thomas B. Wallstein 10.30 +1.4 (New P.B.) 20 years old.
Adam Thomas England(U.K.) 10.20 +1.4

German Sprinter Gina Lukenkemper ran a 10.93 windy today for the win over Daryll Neita! Wind or not that is fast.
I don't think he ran today.

It makes no sense. I saw the race a week ago where he ran the wind legal 10.05! Yannick Wolfs form and leg lift were incredible. He was floating down that track. His knee lift was some of the best I've ever seen. Think almost like a football player about to score that starts high stepping but with his knees. It looked effortless. My guess is he had a slight injury. No way you can get out of shape in one weeks time. I also doubt it was nerves as he is in his mid 20's and was racing at home. It must have been some kind of injury. He probably should have taken a week or two off. I was so pumped to see what he could do today but that was not the same sprinter from a week ago.

I'd say he was very careful not to get anywhere near a false start and thus get no time on the board. He needs allocated points to remain in a qualifying position for Worlds.
It's been 3 months since the Aussie season ended so I'm not sure how the re-peaking process goes. I hope he'll give us some more OK results while over there though.
We never hear of his plans because the training group plays their cards close to their combined chests

his only 100m listed is from 2024 at a still wind 10.49 and he has a sub 21 200m from when he was 20.
Maybe he's hitting his straps now at 23 - he's pretty good for a country without a sprinting culture and a name to watch

they did show a bit of depth this meet. But I wonder if any will get to the worlds? They need to earn points in the individual event since none have qualified on time. Germany has probably qualified for a relay run though.
Can Adam Thomas get a lower 100m time this season?
A +2.5 wind, but old faithful Gina Luckenkemper used it to her advantage to win in a 10.93. She keeps on using that strong mind to drive those legs. She'll be 29 in November so it's been a good career

Her wind aided time of 10.93 translates to about a flat 11, getting faster each time out, Neita is no slouch....

Just an FYI - Rohan Browning it quite possibly having his best season ever. He hasnt raced as much, he was disqualified once, and a number of his races have been wind aided or into the wind, but just look at the body of work and his aggregate time, both overall and excluding heats. Its the best its ever been. As long as he stays healthy and continues to get opportunities he will break 10 this year and most likely more than once.

Not sure as to why but Lachlan Kennedy has pulled out of the 200 meters at the Ostrava Golden Spike. This is sad as I believe he would
have broken his 200 meters p.b. again easily. Not sure if he is injured or not.

On June 21st, Simon Hansen ran a 10.08 +2.5
Yes, mentioned above. He finished behind Browning who ran 10.06.
That's why I said Browning's time was a bit disappointing.
Hansen has been running wind legal times around 10.14, so I would have expected Browning to have been a full tenth ahead of him.

German Sprinter Kevin Kranz is quietly having a nice summer so far. He has run 10.18, 10.16 and 10.13 wind legal so he might be getting close to dropping a sub 10.10! It's exciting to see alot of the German Sprinters running better. Let's just hope that soon one or two of
them can get that elusive sub 10. It's long over due. In addition to the 21 year old Heiko Gussman (10.15) wind legal they have alot of rising under 20 guys. This bodes well for the future.
