The NY Jets are a sad-sack, loser organization that has been a laughing stock, other than a few rare seasons, for as long as I can remember (early 1990s). After the most recent failure, Woody Johnson (and maybe his teenage son(s) if rumors are to be believed) decided to clear house. Goodbye Aaron Rodgers, Coach Salah and GM Douglas. I won't miss the latter two and I'm happy Rodgers is on a serious franchise now. Let's see what type of squad new HC Aaron Glenn (black) and GM Darren Mougey (White) are presenting this year for our entertainment (mostly laughs)...

Total White Athletes on Roster (Starters in bold)
11 or 12* Whites total, with 3 or 4 starters. Grade: F-

TE - Mason Taylor* (mulatto dad), Jeremy Ruckert
FB - Andrew Beck
T - Max Mitchell
C - Joe Tippmann, Josh Myers

DE - Braiden McGregor
DT - Harrison Phillips

K - Nick Folk
P - Austin McNamara
LS - Thomas Hennessy

PS - Brady Cook (QB), Harrison Mevis (K), Jackson Sirmon (LB), Leander Wiegand (OL)

The drop off from a future HoF QB to a guy with a career record of 14-30 and a high water mark of approximately 2,500 yards is significant. Its no secret that Glenn will try to ground and pound the Jets to some wins this year so expect the QB to hand the ball off alot and scramble for yards as well. No White receivers will be hurt in this experiment of passing futility other than a couple TEs. Hardliners will not root for rookie starter Mason Taylor and that is fine. He looks White but his dad is HoF DE Jason Taylor of Miami Dolphin fame. Jason was probably half White at least so Mason should be 3/4 or more White. Backup Jeremy Ruckert from nearby Long Island has not really impressed yet in any season. I hope he steps up or he maybe out of the league soon. The Jets love drafting sumos. They never seem to learn, as each year their O-line is among the worst in the league. Don't expect this 4/5 sumo line to be any different. 3rd year man from Wisconsin Joe Tippmann, fended off newcomer and veteran Josh Myers to remain the starting center. Andrew Beck joins as the almost extinct fullback. With Glenn's approach, he may actually get on the field more than other fullbacks in the league. Best we can hope is that he's given the occasional carry or pass out of the backfield. With this offense, these scraps are the best we can hope for. UDFA QB Brady Cook might be in a good spot as the 3rd stringer on the PS, with 2 lousy and injury prone QBs ahead of him.

On defense, the Jets will have their first White starter in many years. DT Harrison Phillips was recently traded for. I feel bad for him leaving a "White friendly team" that should compete for the dumpster-fire Jets. Coming over as a 3 year starter for the Vikings, his reputation is that of a reliable player and dominate run-stopper. He won't get many sacks, but he always has an impressive number of tackles for his position. The other White defender is 2nd year man DE Braiden McGregor, who broke the Jets' "no Whites policy" last year and made the team as an UDFA. Braiden was a stud at Michigan for many years and has the talent to be a double figure sack artist if he ever gets to start. The good news is that he's move up from 3rd string to 2nd so hoping for more snaps this year.

Overall this team is garbage and lead by a buffoon in owner Woody Johnson, who's a conservative (Ha!). No self respecting White man should watch Jets games, and with Rodgers departure, I can't see myself doing so (even though they are on my local TV each week).

Nice write up. I haven't rooted for the Jets since Joe Namath was slinging the ball for them in the 1970's. Running the scout team is a good place for Brady Cook to learn. He showed flashes at Missouri and had a solid pre-season.

Great news for McGregor - he was all over the place on draft boards after playing for a championship defense in 2023. He initially signed a 3-yr deal for what is surely very close to the minimum with little guaranteed, so he was thought to be a pretty sure bet to make the team again this year. Suddenly, all the post-preseason roster projections I could find had him as a pretty clear "cut," even though he seems to have played well enough. So, it's a pleasant surprise to see him as a clear #2 on the depth chart, for now anyway. Add it as another anecdote for the hypothesis that rosters are made in the front office long before the season starts.
