Almost late on this one! Work's been keeping me really busy. Anyway tonight is a game between two allegedly good teams. Washington at Philadelphia. Both feature "future of the NFL" quarterbacks in Jayden Daniels and Jalen Hurts. I look at Hurts as a fairly run-of-the-mill quarterbacks, not elite but not terrible either. Jury is still out on Daniels running his high school offense at the NFL level. We'll see if the trend of the last few weeks continues where it looks like defenses are starting to figure him out.

Needless to say, I'm a fan of neither and hope they both rack up 85 yards of total offense and multiple turnovers each. Bright spots (literally and figuratively) on the Communists are WR Luke McCaffrey and the slew of excellent TE's headed up by Zack Ertz. So I take back the 85 yard wish on Daniels as it would be nice for the white guys to rack up 100 yards each.

Not much to root for on the offensive side for Philly besides TE Dallas Goedert, but defense features TWO players in verboten positions. S Reed Blankenship is one of the very best in the league at his position and near-unicorn Cooper DeJean is every bit as good as we though he would be. Whadya know, I might actually watch a bit of this one.

Chiefs-Bills on Sunday is one of the best matchups of the season to look forward to.

Indeed. Chiefs will also be without the guy who puts most of their points on the board. Harrison Butker had a meniscus procedure on his left knee, he'll be out 4 weeks. Chiefs signed a kicker off the Jets practice squad to fill in.

Hoping to have a Will Shipley sighting on the Eagles tonight. It bothers me that of all teams to sign Shipley it was the Eagles who have a genuinely outstanding RB in Saquan Barkley. It reminds me way too much of Toby Gerhart in MN with their established great starter Adrian Peterson. The only difference is that I haven't heard stories of the Eagles defenders trying to injure Shipley in practice like Gerhart in MN. And I haven't seen the "aw shucks" attitude from Shipley that all too many white skill players exude, Gerhart being a prime example.

Doesn't bother me much as Barkley is already in his seventh season and has a history injury similar to McCaffrey's, with three seasons in a row marred by injury before being healthy the past two seasons and this one so far. The Eagles also have a strong o-line every year. No team was going to draft Shipley with the intention of starting him even though he's very capable, so I can think of many worse organizations he could have landed with.

DeJean has played between 72 and 96% of the defensive snaps the last 5 weeks, which is great news.

Blankenship has 6 games playing 100% of the snaps and has 50 tackles and could get to 100+ tackles for the second straight season.

Well if Spencer Shrader has a good 4 game audition with the Chiefs then Jake Elliot might be looking over his shoulder after 2 missed kicks already.

Yes Snowplow, nice pick by Reed
We are still waiting for DeJean to get his first pick.
So many white kids have been overlooked at the safety position

Anyone see this? Blankenship and DeJean rocking the "Exciting Whites" t-shirts pre-game!

I found a link where you can buy the shirts online - on the close-ups you can see the classic caste slogans "high motor", "sneaky athletic", "blue collar", and "student of the game"!
LOL, based!!!

For all the boomers out there, this is a meme that started a few years ago on Twitter, where a good play from a white athlete in a pro-black sport would be met with this image reply:
Exciting_whites_cover_v2.jpg

Thanks for sharing your links, @Bob (both the link to the picture and the link to the web store). I noticed that there are TONS of bots under that official NFL tweet sending me to flash-printing stores.

The link you shared is clearly to a higher-quality screen-printer, and they put a little logo on the back, but it's for nearly double the price. The funniest thing is that shirt company's AI defaults to a black man, a bit darker and frizzier version of New Jake from State Farm, rocking the EW tee. I personally would not buy that racially-minded item simply because of that modeling decision (which is surely just a funny AI goof, insofar as forcing black models is "funny").

Don't mean to be a total sourpuss! When it comes to Eagles vs the uhh, "Commanders," I cheer for the team that has Cooper DeJean! But it was another exciting white BLANKENSHIP with the big pick!

edit: I am obviously not going to buy from Bob's link. he has a poor posting history

DeJean and Blankenship might be closet Caste Football readers. Terrible decision by Quinn to go for it on 4th when the score was 10-12. Instead of taking the lead, they turned it over and Eagles immediately score a TD. Then the Blankenship pick, game over.

“Rookie sensation” Jayden Daniels only completed one pass to a WR, for 10 yards. McCaffrey is screwed.

Good point. Down 2 with 8 minutes left is FG time. Take the lead and you are down 1 score if Philly gets a TD.

Those shirts are awesome! Too bad we didn’t come up with those first. Missed marketing campaign by CF lol.

Yeah, I don't know whose idea it was, but CF's influence has undoubtedly spread further than we realize. Too bad so many members here have all but stopped posting. Lurking doesn't help the cause.

And Daniels did indeed look terrible all game. There was no miraculous Hail Mary to bail him out in this one, he couldn't even connect with Terry McLauren (1 catch for 10 yards).

Dull game overall, was supposed to be a high scoring affair highlighting Daniels and Hurts (and Barkley, who did come through with a big game). "Brilliant defense" was the unanimous verdict of the well-compensated "analysts" during the halftime show and after the game. Anything but talking about the poor quality of play and the obvious shrinking talent pool at so many positions. Some of you guys with BQDS need to relax a bit and enjoy the show.

I only stayed up until halftime on this snoozefest. I expected the game that we got, Daniels 1-read-and-run style is not something that lasts. Hurts has looked better than last year and early this season but he's not Josh Allen. Glad to hear that Blankenship and DeJean did well, but it's what I expect.

Amazing how the only two white corners are in the top 10% of coverage corners in the league. And Riley Moss in Denver has Patrick Surtain on the other side (he is an outstanding lock-down corner) so that QB's throw to Moss' side quite a bit.

To be clear - I wasn't trying to encourage anyone buying those shirts from that link. It was just the only picture I could find which had a close-up of the caption after scrolling around Twitter and Reddit.

It’s a great story overall. It’s good to see that these guys are friends and hopefully their success will lead to more white DBs in the league.
