Here are your White Washington Redskins for 2017. Starters are in bold.

QB: Kirk Cousins, Colt McCoy
OL: Brandon Scherff, Spencer Long, Tyler Catalina, Chase Roullier
DL: Matt Ioannidis
LB: Ryan Kerrigan, Will Compton
Special Teams: Dustin Hopkins (K), Tress Way (P), Nick Sundberg (LS)

Practice Squad: Anthony Fabiano (OL), Kyle Kalis (G), Alek Torgersen (QB)

Number of White Starters: 4

Number of Whites on 53-man roster: 12

Grade: F+

The only reason this team doesn't get an F is because of Cousins and Kerrigan. Kirk Cousins enters his third season as the starting QB. In his first season as the starter in 2015, Cousins led the team as it improved from 3-13 to 9-7, a division title, and a playoff berth. The division title and playoff berth were the first in many years for the franchise. He also passed for 29 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and a franchise record 4,166 years and 69.8 completion percentage. In 2016, under Cousins' guidance the Redskins were 8-7-1. Kirk passed for 25 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, another franchise record 4,917 yards and was 7th in the league with a 67.0 completion percentage. He was also named to the Pro Bowl. After those two excellent years, the Redskins for some reason chose not to sign Cousins to a multiyear contract, but instead have strung him along by naming him their franchise player, for which Kirk will earn a handsome $24 million in 2017. One could speculate that Cousins, a devout Christian who supplanted super (((tribesman))) owner Dan Snyder’s favorite pet RG III at QB, is getting the Tebow treatment. Colt McCoy is an able backup at QB.

The OL features solid 4th year guard Brandon Scherff and Spencer Long at center. Reserves are Tyler Catalina and Chase Rouiller. The Redskins will have no white pass catchers this year. Not a single wide receiver, tight end, or running back.

Ryan Kerrigan is a beast of a pass-rushing linebacker. In 2014 he recorded a career best 13.5 sacks and forced five fumbles. Last year he had 11 sacks. Kerrigan is one of the premier pass rushers in the league, which is often the level at which a white player needs to perform in order to become a starter. Will Compton is a solid ILB in the Luke Kuechly mold who started last year, but has been supplanted by free agent soopa-afflete Mason Foster. Though the Washington Post has said “we’ll see if Foster can call plays as well as Compton”. Yes we will. Hopefully Matt Ioannidis sees meaningfull time on the DL.

After two seasons headed in the right direction under the guidance of former general manager Scot McCloughan, the Redskins look to revert to form and take a step backwards in 2017. Snyder has been an unmitigated disaster since he became owner of this team. He is a petty, tyrannical individual who sees the team as a pure money-making venture and is not committed at all to winning. If he was he would have kept McCloughan instead of running him out of town on dubious allegations of having a drinking problem. And, he would have signed Cousins, a top-half of the league QB to be sure, to a long-term deal. But Snyder is a horrendous owner, and after two seasons of actually doing what was needed to improve, this team will be lucky to finish 6-10 this year.

Snyder is one of the most despicable owners in a league full of them.
