Tampa starts a White safety in Chris Conte, and second year undrafted wide receiver Adam Humphries has risen to be the team’s third receiver to start the season. TE Cameron Brate may or may not be the starter, as new head coach Dirk Koetter has been playing head games with Austin Sefarian-Jenkins in an attempt to motivate him to reach the incredible upside he’s supposed to have, but like the vast majority of blacks so blessed, somehow won’t come close to achieving.

Conte is big, fast and athletic, but was run out of Chicago because he missed a few tackles, something black DBs often do left and right, but a White safety (and White defensive players in general) must be almost perfect to escape the wrath of the hive media and DWF Nation.

Clemson grad Humphries beat out a slew of “more athletic” players to become the third receiver. Similarly, Brate, from Harvard, simply makes plays and is a reliable target despite supposedly being an inferior athlete to Sefarian-Jenkins.

Center Joe Hawley and RG Ali Marpet join Conte as the only White starters, depending on Brate’s status as the season goes on. Center-guard Evan Smith is the only other White o-lineman on the roster.

Luke Stocker, Brandon Myers and Alan Cross join Brate as tight ends.

Mike Glennon backs up Jameis Winston at quarterback. Glennon was the league’s best rookie quarterback in 2013 when he made a number of starts, and was rewarded by being consigned to backup status ever since. He has the ability to be a quality starter, but whether he will ever get the opportunity to build on his rookie season remains to be seen.

Conte is the only White defensive player on the Bucs.

Center Ben Gottschalk is the only paleface on the practice squad.

Starters:
C Joe Hawley
RG Ali Marpet
S Chris Conte
TE Cameron Brate (in battle for the job)

Number of Whites on 53 man roster: 14

Grade: F+

"Fullback" Dan Vitale was initially cut by Tampa, briefly signed with Buffalo, then Friday was signed back to the Bucs' practice squad. Instead of Vitale's running, receiving and athleticism being taken advantage of and being developed as a running back, in the NFL he has to be racially slotted to an inappropriate position and still must endure a racial apprenticeship and even then the odds are he'll never get a chance to play regularly.

Vincent Jackson was placed on IR. Adam Humpries will be the #2 wideout for the rest of the season. He needs to take the job and run with it.
