The Golden Eagles started 4 whites in 2006 and 2007, 6 in 2008 and 2009, 1-2 in 2010, 5 in 2011 and 2012, and rose to 8 last year. Despite a very low white starter count, USM remains the whitest of the three FBS Mississippi schools. This year they will start 5, including a true freshman h-back in Daythan Davis and a slot WR in transfer Casey Martin. Former walk on safety David Bertucci will start at the SPUR linebacker position.
