Here's some surprising, but good news:
Elliot Jones of Great Britain, ran 10.04 (1.9w) in Stratford today.
His previous PB was 10.20. He had also run a windy 9.93 (3.7w) in June.
At the Athlete Night Games in Japan, Hiroki Yanagita won the 100m in 10.00 (+0.3), a 0.02s PB. Yuki Koike was 2nd in 10.08 SB.
In the Men's 200m final, Asian champ, Towa Uzawa, won easily in 20.11 (+0.9).
"Because he was placed on IR, Larison's season is now over. He'll remain on the team's IR throughout the year, and will still be signed to his three-year UDFA contract."
Well, only 2 white sprinters made the finals of the 100m at the European U20 Championships. (That tells you a lot about the changing demographics of Europe). They finished first and last.
The winner was Ander Garaiar of Spain with a time of 10.40 (-0.7w).
From what I am reading online, it doesn't seem like Cody Schrader has much chance of making the Rams' final roster.
He had a lot of positive reports while in training camp with the 49ers, but then he was waived and went to the Rams.
Basically he has disappeared since then.
Another 'what if he...
Cam Skattebo sat our practice today. Bad news.
"The rookie sat out of another practice on Thursday due to an injury that he has been dealing with recently. It looks like he may continue to miss more time because of it, and the longer he's out, the more likely it is that Tyrone Tracy Jr. will...
Hubert Troscianka is a Polish decathlete competing in the European U20 Championships.
He ran the 400m in 46.21 to shatter not just the European U20 400m decathlon best, and also the world U20 decathlon best which was previously held by Australia’s Ashley Moloney.
Troscianka’s time was also...
A nice article about Jonathan Edwards and his triple jump record
(I enjoyed the above about Kathy Smallwood Cook. She was one of my favorites, who was overshadowed by the East Europeans.)

Yes! His time is faster than any collegian.
So now the 800m high school record is faster than the 800m collegiate record, which is amazing!
He is now the 4th fastest American ever.
This is really mind blowing!!
Yoshihide Kiryu ran 9.99 (1.5w) and Yuhi Mori ran 10.00 (1.3w) in their heats at a meet in Japan. The final was cancelled due to weather.
Meanwhile in the 200m, Shota Iizuka won in 20.45 (1.2w). He is 34 years old, and has broken 20.5 in every one of the last 14 years. Pretty amazing!
