That's now Australia. Hence my remark tongue in cheek that we're now the "fastest European" team. None of the other teams shown in the list are - interestingly Japan and China are ahead (China just, Japan by 4/10ths...

I liked it when Bruce jokingly said "I'm celebrating now, I've got 0.02 advantage over you". And it was exactly the same advantage as last week. What competition I'm expecting at the Aussie championships, especially with Browning's slick win while hiding away in Queensland

19 year old Seb Sultana who ran 2nd starts fast but lost a little in the latter part of his drive phase I think. With more strength and practice I reckon he may fix that and possibly get him a legal 10 low even now. Some great wheels on him. Azzopardi probably lost a few 1/100ths just in his...

I agree with you mate. One of the things I note is that: a) our teams really appreciate each other. They love to perform together against the world (yes, probably some insecurity of needing to prove ourselves, being so far from everyone else on the planet). That started a century and a half...

A gutsy athlete, a great performer retires. Richard Kilty turns 36 in September - he's had a sparkling career and is now coach of new Brit star Louie Hinchcliffe who had been in Carl Lewis squad https://www.bbc.com/sport/olympics/articles/cg5dzl2r6l0o

includes Josh Azzopardi being interviewed by another young lady who is being blooded into commentary and interviewing - she knows her stuff. She's Ella Nelson. It's great to get athletes into these positions because they know what it's all about - "been there, done that". She ran 22.50/200 in...

some fuller youtube clips of some events from the Sydney track classic. One thing I particularly like is that 1 guy (Calab Law, home straight) is 19 and one (Kennedy, lead-off) is 21, Good to have some younger guys to learn from the 25/26/27 year olds

    Emilie Erasmus 10.01

so Emile is right now in form to run 2 1/2 repeats of 100 in one session. He's getting ready to manage several rounds which is great news with the championships still 6 weeks away. He could be really fresh and primed by then with the hard work being finished. I trust he was still feeling good...

the last event of the night and a repeat run for 3 of the relay boys - too bad about the +2.4 but 10.06 was a decent 2nd run of the night for Azzopardi. Sultan ran 10.08 but was not in the relay tonight but he beat a guy who was by 0.2 second. Maybe we can lower that 38.87 soon

and for something a little different - in the preliminaries of the Sydney track Classic, Harlow Pate (girl, 11 years) ran a PB of 12.96 into a slight wind beating every boy of the same age. I believe she is also a world record holder (from when she was 10 I think). I'll wait to see how she...

Sydney Track Classic is on tonight. It will be good to see NSW sprinters Josh Azzopardi and Seb Sultana battling it out again after their 10.09 to 10.11 showdown 2 weeks ago. Nope, no sign of Browning at all

    Emilie Erasmus 10.01

they were very much critical of Omanyala's run ..... 10.20 for a 9.77 man. I think the lady co-commentator wasn't playing Emile down - she just reads it well. She felt Letebele, the 18 year old in lane 1, had won (even though Emile was getting to him). The male commentator twice mentioned "a...

    Forgotten White Athletes?

I just stumbled upon this relay from 2018 tonight. It's no top class meet (by world terms) but it shows 2 of our favourites running 1,2 in finishing. It shows Guliyev's closing speed that he almost caught Tortu

that is great Miele23. Improving quickly and in some good company tonight too. Both of you must be very satisfied at his continued improvement. Let's hope his long lay-off might in some way have a positive effect on his sprinting longevity.

I love Klaver - but she has times where she fades in the straight because she always goes out hard. She has been better the last few years but it still happens on occasion. Her torso is long and she also doesn't get high knee lift. Very well muscled so she has lots to carry around for 400m

an interesting look into Amy Hunt's last few years - and her personality traits. Still world number 2 x 200m Under 18 all-time (22.42), she came back seriously into track mid 2023 and within the first year had 11.12/11.13 to her name, both based upon indoor 60m times in the 7.20s. Now with an...

yes, she is keeping on with it so hopefully her issues are behind her. A very useful 3rd leg relay team member too. 7.09 isn't half bad for a woman who was basically a 200m specialist (still world number two 18 year old all-time in that event with 22.42). What I find especially exciting is...

he is possibly in the mindset of "I've won it once - been there, done that" ...... I guess a few injuries could cement that feeling too. When the passion just becomes a grind it's over. Yes, I agree with you about Robertson - he's certainly used what he's been given to the fullest. Never the...
