    NHL People of Color

I just heard on the radio the other day he's having a poor season. Last year he was the best in the league but he's regressed this year. (I'm not suggesting there's a connection with his love life).

    Tiger Woods

"That's the answer that a 21-year-old would give, isn't it? Actually no, Lee. That's the kind of answer a normal Ulsterman gives. Honestly and undiplomatically calling a spade a spade is in our nature.

They announced over 11000 in attendance at the Montreal@Atlanta game last night. At best it was half that number. Guess that diversity approach of the Atlanta Thrashers isn't working out. Time to move the Thrashers to Quebec City and replace their current diversity black quarterback with French-Canadians -...

Roger federer=greatest sportsmen of all time

Djokovic beat Federer in straight sets to win the ATP tournament in Dubai. That's twice in a row Djokovic has defeated Federer without conceding a set. The Serb has really upped his game in the past six months or so. I'd say he looks like the best player in the world right now.Edited by: Matra1

    Gennaro Gattuso Headbutts Joe Jordan

Gattuso banned for 4 matches by UEFA. That means just tournaments organised by UEFA such as Champions League. If Milan go out next game (2nd leg against Spurs) I don't know if the ban carries through to next season. I doubt it.

    Gennaro Gattuso Headbutts Joe Jordan

I watched the match. Milan were unimpressive and Gattuso will miss the 2nd leg. His speaking Scottish comment was a reference to a Glasgow Kiss (ie a headbutt). He should be fined for it and banned from a few matches.

New premier league season black-white ratios

Yes, but then Chelsea substituted Torres in the 2nd half, bringing on Drogba who, incidentally, seemed to be guilty of encroachment during that missed penalty by Dempsey.

    Tiger Woods

The only thing I heard about Dubai was that Tiger was savaged by European commentators for spitting on the green. Apparently he'll be fined for it. http://www.sportinglife.com/golf/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=golf/11/02/13/GOLF_Dubai_Woods.html&BID=585

Update. The much hyped Kadri was sent back down to the Marlies (the Leafs 'farm' team) in late December. He did not score in the 17 games he started despite being put on a line with the top forwards. Another great hope for diversity bites the dust.

    2011 Australian Open

SPOILERS! After the first set I thought we'd be in for a long and brutal match but this second set is shocking. It's as if Murray was stunned by the way Djokovic suddenly grabbed the first set after it being so close for so long.Edited by: Matra1

She spells Medusa "Madusah". Their white-hating father has been quiet of late so I guess Mama Williams is picking up the slack. Sour grapes I'd say. Also, I think Li Na said Serena was the best player in one of her interviews on ESPN so maybe that earned her the support of Mama Williams...

    2011 Australian Open

Djokovic was superb. He has raised his game to a whole new level. The quality of the tennis was out of this world.

    2011 Australian Open

Scotland's Andy Murray is playing the best tennis of his career in my opinion. I think he'll be too strong for Ferrer. Djokovic is also playing his best tennis. He made it to the final of the US Open defeating Federer on the way then led his country to a Davis Cup championship against France...

I hate to agree with Patrick McEnroe and Chris Fowler but this is a pretty poor show by Wawrinka.

    2011 Australian Open

Wawrinka is from the French part of Switzerland. From what I heard his mother is French-Swiss and his father's family were either ethnic Germans from the east (Poland or Bohemia) or Slavic or maybe a mixture. Federer is indeed from the German part of Switzerland but I recall McEnroe saying a few...

I'm not having a go at You or anything, mate, but I find the sympathy that Asians receive from some pro-Whites thoroughly mystifying. I think it is because there are so many blacks in America that all other minorities look good relative to blacks and the social pathologies that come with...

    2010-11 NFL Playoffs

Yes, I recall the Chargers losing to the Patriots in the play-offs a couple of years ago due to a black Charger trying to get some glory on 4th down instead of finishing the job in behalf of his team. Schottenheimer lost his job a day or two later.Edited by: Matra1

    2011 Australian Open

Stan Wawrinka's straight set takedown of Andy Roddick was pretty impressive. Petkovic had a meltdown in the 4th round of the US Open last September against Zvonareva (speaking of meltdowns!) but she seems to have stepped it up a notch.

    2011 Australian Open

The last I heard of Blake he had pulled out of some exhibition match in Australia earlier this month due to an injury. I'm guessing whatever that injury was it kept him out of the Aussie Open. He usually gets eliminated by the 3rd round of slams anyway. Justine Henin was eliminated the other...

    2011 Australian Open

As for Venus I guess she really was hurt during the last match. That's her first retirement in over 250 Grand Slam matches. I wonder if her refusal to play any tournaments between Grand Slams led to her injury - ie due to lack of match fitness. Petkovic now plays Sharapova in the fourth...

    2011 Australian Open

It was a very competitive first set which Wawrinka won in a tough tie break that seemed to demoralise Monfiels as he fell apart in the second set. He was run ragged by Wawrinka. Brad Gilbert pointed out that Monfiels had done a lot more running than Wawrinka in the first set and was sucking air...
