Sacramento State (along w No.Dakota St) are theTwo newest additions to the FBS; now bringing the total to 138 teams
Sacramento State needs to go to the Mountain West; instead are way over in the MAC more than halfway across the country! !
....simple...TRADE places with Northern Illinois now in Mountain West ...can't make this stuff up!

This season the Hornets look to have "6"? White starters ...doesn't seem much different than big brother USC

Took more notice of FCS Sacramento State several years ago after they were the only school to offer RB Cam Skattebo out of HS...Now just a distant memory

Players to watch for 2nd team WR Soph. Jaxon Fresques (5'-7" 169); QB Jackson Sharman

OFFENSE
QB Carson Conklin
LG Jamin Guilbert (6'-5" 311)
C Bryson Summers (6'-5" 329)
RT Garrison Blank (6'-7" 328)

DEFENSE
MLB Derek Houston
WLB Alex Rocha (hispanic mix?)

2nd team DL Collin Kallhoff ;
Watch for ....LB Dante Antonini; LB Jackson Cahoon

Twenty-Two, I did a "quasi" Sacramento State write-up in 2025, which me, you and Bucky discussed several things, mostly Sac State's quest to move up to F.B.S. Turns out they made it happen.

Reason I did the write-up last year, is I was shocked (abhorred) that the Hornets were down to just 4 White starters -- 4/22 against South Dakota State.

Couple quick points:

Their D.E.I., Cowboy Hat wearing black head coach left after just one season, only to be replaced by another black head coach. He went to Colorado, as Deion's offensive coordinator. Not sure that's a promotion, considering Sac State was moving up to F.C.S.? I suppose it's possible he was nudged out for whatever reason, as it's odd that he left in December?

Brennan Marion is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, joining Deion Sanders' staff in December 2025 after serving as the head coach at Sacramento State. Known as the innovator of the "Go-Go" offense:bandit:

Sac State lost (potentially) their top defensive player to Fresno State, a White edge rusher (check the Fresno thread for details).

Last season, 4 of 5 Sac State's QB's were black, with their ex-Cowboy Hat wearing H.C. at the helm. I think the one White QB was like 4th or 5th string? So that's changed.

P.S: I would not consider Rocha White https://hornetsports.com/sports/football/roster/alex-rocha/10862

Thanks for jarring the memory bank Truthteller ...oh yeah in the South Dakota Stat Jackrabbits thread ...now i remember!

I'd like to see FCS UC-Davis (DB Rex Connors) team face Sacramento State..seems they'd be natural "Rivals" seeing how the schools are LESS THAN 20 miles miles apart
