Some good news....former high school sensation Mia Brahe Pedersen, seems to be over the injuries that plagued her the last 2 seasons.
Today, she was the fastest 200m qualifier at the Big 10 Championships with a time of 23.03. Let's hope she continues to improve and gets back on the trajectory of becoming one of the best sprinters in the country.

good to hear. It was disappointing to read of her injury when she was promising so much in 2024

Victoria Cameron ran a blazing 7.09 in the 60m heats of the WAC Championships.
That's the 2nd fastest time in the NCAA this season.
Let's see if she has more in the final.

p.s. Her teammate Lauren Roy had the 2nd fastest time of the day, 7.19.

Russian Sprinter Andrey Sapozhnilov ran a time of 6.59 recently. Hopefully he can follow in the footsteps of K. Krylov.

In the German Nat'l Champs today we had 5 men go in the 6.50's in the 60 meters final. Kevin Kranz took silver with a 6.56
missing the win by 1/100th of a second.

We now have 15 European Mens Sprinters with times in the 6'50's Range! It's great to see. Let's hope this translates to a very
hot and fast summer with many new personal bests from alot of these guys. Let's keep it rolling!

Thanks for all of the updates. Many of us get busy and it's so great to see you have it at a glance. I must say that Kalen Walker
and Chance Cross run mid int he 6.55 range with ease. Stay healthy guys as the outdoors is where the money is!

Great to see Mia Brahe-Pedersen back on the medal stand. She will only get better from here!

Victoria Cameron wins the WAC 60m Championship in a PB of 7.08!
At the moment, that's the leading time in the entire NCAA!
Teammate Lauren Roy was 2nd in a time of 7.25.

Oliver Odowik 6.54 to win the 60m at the Polish Championships.

That's another new personal best time for him indoors. Let's see if he can improve on that 10.10 p.b. outdoors. It's all about speed maintenance. He should runs some 200's occasionally & not just in practice to improve his conditioning.

She just may be the next Abby Steiner. So much talent oozing through her veins. She is fun to watch. Congrats to Miss Cameron!

18 year old Tomas Horak of the Czech Republic has run a 20.65 indoors. The fastest time in all of Europe. Excited to see what this young
man can do outdoors in the coming years. He is just a baby and so much talent.

On a side note I'm going to really watch Dominik Ilovsky of Hungary outdoors. He has run in the 6.50's six times indoors with a personal
best time of 6.52! His 100 meters p.b. is a modest 10.25 so he should smash that. Hope he can work on his speed endurance. Alot of sprinters run great 60 meters but fail to hold that speed over the 100 meters. I'm sure his coach will work on this.

On Saturday evening, one of the highlights of the Polish Indoor Championships at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Toruń was the men's 60-meter sprint final, in which winner Oliwer Wdowik clocked a remarkable time of 6:54. "I don't have many talents, but I was blessed with the gift of fast running, and I try to cultivate it as best I can," admits the Resovia Rzeszów sprinter.

Born in 2002, Oliwer Wdowik achieved his first international success in 2019, winning two medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival. Two years later, he and his Polish teammates won a bronze medal at the U20 World Championships in the 4 x 100-meter relay, topping this success with a two-time European junior record in the relay race. At the same competition, Wdowik became the first Pole to compete in the 100-meter final of the Global Junior Championships. In 2025, he sprinted 10:10, securing valuable points for the national team at the European Team Championships. The 2026 indoor season has already seen him break his personal best twice in the 60-meter dash – 6:55 in Dortmund and an outstanding 6:54, which secured gold at the Polish Indoor Championships on Saturday evening.

6.54, just 0.03 shy of Marian Voronin's 1987 Polish record. If you had finished this race without that joy just before the finish line, you could have celebrated breaking that all-time best.

Yes, yes! I felt great in this race. Very flexible, loose. I'm incredibly calm. I also have to admit that I didn't expect to run so fast here, during the Polish Championships. However, over the distance, I felt phenomenal. That finger at the end was probably unnecessary, but it was a gesture of emotion, spontaneous. This is my third title in a row in this indoor track; I want to follow in the footsteps of Remek Olszewski. He won the Polish indoor 60-meter championship for seven years, season after season. I'm glad I also won that internal battle with Domino Kopiec. Nice. A breakthrough. I didn't expect a time of 6:54. That's a phenomenal result, but in three weeks it will be faster.

The Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Toruń received a new surface this fall. Is this track really as fast as it's been rumored?

It's fast. If you're prepared and your disposition is good, it really reflects that. This tartan is really nice. It's so sticky. I don't know how to describe it, but I feel really good on it.

So we can expect an attack on the Polish record from you at the world championships? Marian Woronin ran 6.51 at the 1987 European Indoor Championships in Liévin, so that record already has a long beard.

I have this feeling that I'm probably the guy who'll do it. That thought is with me all the time. I guess I was born for this. I don't think I have many talents, and somewhere along the line, I was blessed with the gift of running fast. I try to cultivate that as best I can. I hope it will be faster at the world championships. Results like 6:54 show me there's still a slight margin. I kind of regret my first start here. There was a false start, and I had a great reaction. I hit it off perfectly. I regret that; we didn't get much rest afterward. There was a margin here, if only I'd recovered better after that first attempt.

The 2026 indoor season is shaping up to be a great one for you. That 6.54 is another personal best in the 60 meters you've set. What kind of running might this translate to this summer?

I feel like something clicked since my run at the European Team Championships in Madrid last June. I've found, or am very close to finding, my optimal running pattern. I've understood how I should run the distance. How to run fast and at the same time relaxed. This is what's causing me to deviate from this distance. I think that if I maintain this and continue this work until the summer, I'll be able to reach around 10 seconds.

Is that rivalry with Domino Kopiec you mentioned also a turn-on? You're a great sprinting duo this season.

Definitely. We spent the last week here together. We're pumping ourselves up together, creating a tight-knit group. We're also thinking about the relay, ultimately. It's clear that Domino and I are leading the pack, but there are guys who want to catch up. We're raising the bar, and at the same time, we're seeing changes in Polish sprinting. I'm also thinking about the people who are further down the leaderboard; they're also running faster than before.

There are also a lot of interesting young sprinters behind you.

That's also encouraging. We'll see how time will measure them. I'm rooting for them. I hope they're being guided wisely, because that can be tricky. I think that for a young player like Szymon Dołęga, just participating in the final is a head-opener. I remember similar events from my own career.

Finally, a question about the rapidly approaching World Indoor Championships. What is your goal for your March performance here at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Toruń?

The final. I think the final is the main goal.
