2024 stats: 16 games | 51 tackles | 3 tfl | 0.5 sacks | 6 PD | 1 FF | 3 FR

After a 2023 season of struggles in the secondary, the Eagles used their top two picks on defensive backs, including DeJean in the second round, who made an immediate impact. With his help, Philly went from the 31st-ranked defense in passing yards allowed to No. 1, a turnaround that spearheaded its return to the playoffs. To cap off his impressive opening season, DeJean was responsible for one of the most viral and pivotal moments in Super Bowl LIX, intercepting Patrick Mahomes and returning it for a touchdown to put Philadelphia up 17-0 over the Kansas City Chiefs and kick off the blowout. Celebrating his birthday that day, DeJean's first NFL interception came on the biggest stage there is.

NFL Pro Insight for DeJean: Cooper DeJean allowed just 0.8 yards per coverage snap during the regular season, the fourth-fewest among slot cornerbacks and the fewest by a rookie slot corner since 2021 (minimum 250 coverage snaps).
Mr. “slot corner” a term that’s never been more gratuitously used except to describe DeJean, because we know a “white boy” cannot be a cornerback. Just like the “slot receiver” is a designation to marginalize White WR’s. Either way, DeJean is about to become a superstar.

Hmm. That is the first time I'm across the position of "slot receiver." Not all bad though. Might be a way to sneak more white players into the cornerback position.
