White French MMA Fighter

When I first saw it I had to look twice ... were my eyes deceiving me?

But I saw an actual white Frenchman in MMA just now on Cage Warriors. His name is Olivier Pastor. He is a bantamweight. He is also 39 so will not be added to any prospect lists.

In all seriousness, he is the first white Frenchman I have seen fighting in MMA. Literally all the rest are black (or a few Arabs). And they all suck too.

And he wins by guillotine! Best of luck to Pastor! Maybe he can teach some of those atrocious black "French" fighters how to do it.

My favorite black "French" fighter was the guy on TUF a few years ago who quit during a fight saying his hand hurt. The coaches were trying to urge him on then he said, "my stomach hurts." The punk was just looking for a way out.

the only one i knew was cheik kongo

we also had black a few non-white olympic wrestlers too
but the only one to win was steve guenot (golden medal at beijing 2008, and bronze at london 2012)

It is in the U.S. All but one of the college wrestling champs last year was white.

it's not that big in france, and mostly white, i'd say virtually all-white
but when they want to add non-whites to the sport they promote the sport in paris and then you have a lot of blacks in the sport
cheik kongo was horrible at wrestling from what i kow, with MMA fighters with a wrestling backgroud like you have in the US the french fighters would be better (and whiter)

As yiou know Georges St. Pierre is French-Canadian and he is the dominaint welterweight in MMA.

this year will be the first year when MMA will be legal in france, before it was illegal
and i don't know if UFC competitions can be broadcasted in france, i think that right now they are forbidden to be broadcasted
so maybe in a few years we'll see more MMA fighters from france

Other than Jerome Le Banner I don't know many white French MMA or Kickboxing fighters. Belgium has some very good kickboxers for a country so small.

One of the strongest and most physical dominant "wrasslers" of all time (& 1 of my favorites) hailed from France....one André René Roussimoff. :biggrin1:

Actually the vast majority of French fighters in all combat sports are white men. There are a few more French (white, which are the only truth French people in France) MMA fighters, but I would agree that other than Jerome, no one has achieved "All time Great Status".

Also French brothers are the best Savate warriors in the world and have produced the greatest Judoka of all time, legendary David Douillet.

Frenchmen are great fighters, despite the false "Anglo-Saxon" stereotypes! I have live and trained in France for two years, I speak from personal experience!

Good find on Lepont. He is fighting Shinya Aoki - the greatest Japanese MMA fighter - next month. If he wins I imagine a call to the UFC is next. Best of luck to this white warrior!
