Recently, my wife and I started to watch a DVD we had rented, when, before the film even played, I learned something of great interest.

Apparently, in the world of creative entertainment, not only can white men not jump, but we represent most, if not all, of the criminal element.

Before the movie spun, the motion picture industry had inserted a one minute infomercial on the evils of movie piracy and intellectual theft. To make their melodramatic point, they showed a criminal stealing a cell phone. Some thug breaking into a car. And just a total reprobate, stealing a purse. Truly awful people.

The point of course being, just like no decent, law abiding citizen would ever contemplate committing such vile crimes, no upright individual would ever consider downloading a movie off the internet, or buying a cheap, burned copy, with someone's popcorn in the bottom of the frame, from off the street.

Of course, in the pre-movie infomercial, all three criminals were white men. Which got me to thinking. In the make believe land of movies, television, and commercials, if there is a heinous crime to be committed, 99.9% of the time, it's now going to be done by a white guy. In fact, it has to be done by a white guy.

There are a lot of black criminals shown on TV shows. America's Most wanted and COPS feature black criminals all the time. OH, I'm sorry . I forgot that these are either footage of real criminal commiting real crimes or re-enactments of real criminals commiting real crimes. These two shows obviously are produced by Nazis and KKK types who just want to put the black man down by ignoring white crime.

I don't know, the COPS tv shows that I've seen lately always feature white perpetrators, not black. They are probably deliberately more even-handed in their treatment than they should be.

There was a lot of criticism of COPS showing too many black criminals, so they probably went out of their way to find "white trash" to humiliate instead.

While I still find "Cops" entertaining on occasion, there is no question that the show has instituted a quota policy regarding the race of the criminals they show. There are few black perps now on this program (never more than one per show), with a few hispanics sprinkled in. The overwhelming majority of the "criminals" portrayed on "Cops" now are your garden-variety white trash, mostly meth users. This still can be fun to watch (it amazes me how few of these white males ever wear a shirt), but it's hardly indicative of the kinds of people police officers deal with in the regular course of their duties.

i thought this was common knowledge... a few years ago, the "reverend" jesse jackson and a bunch of other black jackasses , including the NAACP, voiced a series of complaints regarding the show COPS. their complaint was, of course, that too many blacks were being portrayed negatively.

they should have said "realistically" but why bother with the facts, right?

the producers joined in the collective lock step and bowed to the pressure, and ever since the show has been mainly about white trash drunks and meth heads.

My wife who is a regular wather said they the last few years most of the cases had been white. Sound ssimilar to something I heard about "Law and Order". When it first came on a lot of the criminals were portrayed as black. I have heard the Mr. Janet Reno Clinton's Attorney general threated to harrass them if they did not change to predominately white criminals.
