Titans headed for a fall?

I'm wondering what you all think of the Titans' chances next season? No doubt, they will have a pretty big bandwagon next season. But to me, they probably mortgaged their future with their "success" this season. Think about how many really freak games they won last year. The 60-yard field goal against Indy. The 3 defensive TDs against Jacksonville. Young's Vick-like run against Houston. And I won't even dwell on the Giants game.

My point is, this is not really an 8-8 team, but more like a 4-12 team, but they'll be drafting middle of the pack, rather than early. Plus, they seem to have convinced themselves that Young has made "great strides" in learning the pro game. Seems to me that they have many of the same problems they had pre-Young, and they won't go very far in addressing them. Hence, likely the biggest bust of '07.

Adam Schefter, who is a fast rising "insider" in the Caste corporate media (why do I think he's related to Suzy Kolber every time I see him

), reported on the NFL Network today that most people in the league don't think Titans owner Bud Adams will pony up the kind of money that Jeff Fisher will demand for a contract extension and will let Fisher walk after this season.

I'm not sure what to make of Fisher. The '05 Titans received Caste Football's highest grade and fully half of their defensive players that season were white, probably the only time that's been the case on an NFL team in at least 20 years.

But there seemed to be power wrangling within the organization leading up to the Draft last year. Tennessee was widely predicted to want Matt Leinart, but a couple weeks before the Draft all of a sudden they switched to Young. Did that come from Adams, GM Floyd Reese, Fisher, or a combination thereof? Hard to say.

I agree that the Titans overachieved in '06 courtesy of a lot of luck. In '07 Drew Bennett will most likely be gone via the FA route, and the Titans will be just another very black NFL team, and probably not a very good one either. I hope Fisher leaves so that we can see if he is indeed one of the least anti-white coaches or if '05 was just an illusion.

With New England, he will not have great stats because Tom Brady throw to everyone..In san Diego they don't have a number one receiver like 49ers
