John Molina won the WBO NABO lightweight form Hank Lundy on ESPN Friday Night Fights. Lundy controlled the fight for the first 3-4 rounds depending on who you ask. In the first three round they "boxed" in the center of the ring which was Lundy's fight plan. Starting i the fourth they were fighting around the perimeter, against the ropes and in the corners where Molina' punching power gave him the advantage. Molina scored an impressive knock down in the eighth round was unable to finish the fight Lundy before the end of the round. In the 11th Molina hurt Lundy seriously, to the point that Lundy grabbed the middle rope and used it to hold himself up. A few seconds later the referee stopped the fight and awarded Molina a TKO. In addition to a promising white fighter advancing his career this was also a very entertaining fight.

I watched this entertaining fight from stop to finish last night and Lundy's showboating cost him the fight because if it had gone to the judges it would have been a close one. The classic puncher versus boxer last night and the puncher won. I don't know why these white boxers allow themselves to get interviewed by Teddy Atlas after the fight because he is always critical even after a victory. I guess any camera/interview time is better than none at all, I just wish a fighter would call him out on his crap sometimes.

Teddy seemed somewhat tortured by seeing the white boxer win by KO.
