I don't think Dan Cody has seen one play this season. He is listed as 2nd string on their roster. WTF!?

Dan Cody is playing behind Adalius Thomas, who is preforming very well this season.

Dan Cody is not injured or on I.R. He got a lot of playing time in the preseason on special teams and on defense, but has been inactive for every game this season.

Cody is coming off the acl injury from his rookie year (2005) and while he is completely recovered, he is still inexperienced. He is great in the pass rush, but cannot help in defending the run yet. The other linebackers on the Ravens can play both the run and pass so that is why Cody is not being activated.

How will he get experience if he doesn't play at all? You don't deactivate your now healthy second round draft pickfor every game. Billick is a fanatical supporter of the Caste System, but he still plays whites on defense as backups -- Jarrett Johnson, Justin Bannon, Mike Smith. Something's not right about the way Cody is being used, even for Billick andthe NFL.

The double standard again- when was the last time any black player drafted that high was a healthy scratch for most of the season?

I think the Ravens are planning on using Cody next season, but he doesn't help the team as well this year since he is vulnerable against the run. I do agree he needs to be on the field to get better, but Billick has been giving white players more of an opportunity on defense.

Kelly Gregg, Justin Baanan, Jarret Johnson (LB converted into a DE), and Mike Smith. Smith was a 7th round pick last yearwho impressed everyone in preseason this year and made the team over Roderick Green, a black LB, who the Ravens had high hopes for going into training camp.

According to Raven coaches, they like Cody and feel he will have a big impact on defense in the coming years, mainly in rushing the passer. If the Ravens continue to win this year and wrap up the division early, Cody may get a chance to play in the last few games to get some experience.

"Ravens | Cody injury update
Fri, 1 Jun 2007 10:38:13 -0700

Jamison Hensley, of the Baltimore Sun, reports Baltimore Ravens LB Dan Cody (knee) could miss the rest of offseason minicamps with a hyperextended right knee."

Dan Cody might very well have his promising career cut short, i am not sure how much patience will Ravens have with him.

The Ravens players themselves were pretty high on Jarrett as Adalius Thomas' replacement. Bart Scott in particular seemed convinced that he was athletic and was going to win the starting job handily.

Baltimore is a white athlete's Auschwitz. They will continue to hold white talent and prevent them from seeing the field. Only a coach that is in dire straits will play a white player. That is why Heap sees the field. Even so, he is given status as a token white guy and no one takes him seriously. Look at the NFL Street cover. They're sending a token white message. They're saying that he is just on the team to keep the fans happy.

bullsh*t. he is one of the best TE in the league and every season he's their QB's best friend. that includes McNair. i agree he can be used even more but "he is given status as a token white guy and no one takes him seriously" is a full of sh*t statement, every defense has got to adjust to Heap and i am sure they take him VERY seriously.

Sure, when he is on the field they take him seriously. But lets see whose name will come up when people talk about great Baltimore Tight Ends. He came after Ben Coates and Shannon Sharpe. Everyone will remember Baltimore's Super Bowl win and they'll think of the TEs on that team, even though they were both well past their primes.
You'll find countless people making fun of Heap and his NFL Street 2 cover with Ray and Jamal Lewis on the web.
