Vitali Savin of Kazakhstan ran a wind aided 9.94
as far as I know that may be the only white sprinter to break 10 in any conditions.

There have been several windy sub 10's. The most recent I can think of was Macrozonaris who ran two sub 10's in one day. One of them should have been a legit sub 10 even rounded up because he ran a 9.91!

I don't see it on here because it doesn't list the wind aided times but it happened in 2002 which is also when he started a couple years of running his fastest times. He had a wind legal 10.03 and also won the Canadian Nat'l. Champs in a legal 10.13!

Nicolas Macrozonaris

Here is your proof. He had two sub 10's in the meet but he only has one listed here. He should have had a legit sub 10. Macrozonaris was quite a talent!

Here is Peter Karlson doing it going back a few years. There are several guys that have done it. Shirvo would have easily went sub 10 in his 10.03 race with any wind at all. The guy from Russia should have had the fastest time of them all but had a -2.1 wind. Here is the video of Karlson. The bottom line is that it should have happened already but it's a case of bad luck. Even Pickering should have done it just 3 weeks ago! It will happen but damn has been a long wait.

It was romoured that Borzov clocked 9.7(hand timed) training sessions leading up to Munich. That put a scare into the brothers.....
smiley36.gif
That also might have started the athletic arms race too...

Marian Woronin ran a 10 flat, but the time was actually sub ten. It was rounded up from a 9.992. Peter Karlsson also ran a wind aided sub ten time of 9.98 sec. The best white performance might be Matt Shirvington's 10.03 into a headwind.

Christophe Lemaitre, Christian Blum, Fabio Cerutti, and craig Pickering are the future of white 100 meter sprinting.

The best sprinters are defined by their accomplishments though. Therefore Allan Wells (10.11) and Valery Borzov (10.07)are the best recent white 100 meter sprinters. They are both Olympic champions, defeating fields with 3 black runners in the finals.
