Watch out for the nearly all white Drake Bulldogs. They are ranked 23rd in the nation and kicking butt at 17-1!

They were picked to finish last in the Missouri Valley Conference after their old coach, Dr Tom Davis, retired. His son took over as has them playing some unselfish, sharp-shooting basketball

Thanks for the headsup. I saw Drake moving up in the rankings but had no idea of the racial makeup of the team.

Their point guard, Adam Emmenecker, was (is?) a walk-on from Saginaw,
where he was the only white guy on the team and rarely shot.

That school, Arthur Hill (alma mater of Jason Richardson) has one white
guy on the team now, junior Michael Schaaf, who may be the best
quarterback in the Midwest.

Cox, Emmenecker, Korver, and the rest of this white dominated team are lighting it up today against a virtually all-black Illinois State team.

Very interesting how the CBS announcers (Dick Enberg is doing the play by play) describe them more as an unorthodox sideshow than a legitimate basketball power.

Wow I'm disappointed. I had Drake winning this game and then beating Connecticut in my bracket, before losing. Drake lost on a ridiculous clutch shot from some white guy (Rogers) on Western Kentucky in OT. The guy took the winning shot from about 7 feet outside the 3 point line heavily contested by 3 defenders on a fade away. Drake had loads of white players on their team, more than Western Kentucky...damn.

This game exemplifies all that I hate about the NCAA tournament. Every year, we get our hopes us, and every year we are let down. Drake certainly had to be one of the favorite teams of any anti-Caste system fan.

Btw- did you all see the unreal, undeserved lavish praise that was showered on the black player from West Kentucky who passed the ball to the white guy who made the game- winning shot? It was nothing more than a short, simple back pass after penetrating- nothing special at all. However, all the talking heads on ESPN went wild over this "incredible" pass, and totally ignored the white guy who made the game-winning shot. Bobby Knight-who so many here seem to think is somehow a white-friendly coach- actually said the pass was the best play he'd seen anyone make this year in college basketball. Wow.

I checked the play out at Yahoo Sports and replayed ita half dozen times. The White kid should be getting the lions share of the praise. The pass was OK, nothing special. Bobby Knight can't REALLY believe the pass was the best play he'd seen all year. Totally pathetic!
