Its early but other than cb it looks like the numbers are getting much better for early scholarship offers for whites at the skill positions.

We have already discussed rb/wr prospect Ryan Switzer out of West Virginia. He is going to be a rb at the next level and has about 25 offers right now including Florida State. There are a number of good rbs with at least one offer already like Anthony Lauro out of Florida and Justin Webster out of Texas. Also Caleb Hopkins out of Tennessee is a good one to look for.

On the wr front, Jake Oliver has already signed with Texas. Dylan Cantrell has about 12 early big-time offers , and a NJ receiver named C. Callinan already has an offer from Rutgers which is not their usual m.o. . There is another wr named Challinsworth from Pennsylvania who is 6'2" and has 4.4 speed who is going to be the next Randy Moss. Whats so impressive in his youtube highlights is he shows all the skills and then you find out the video is from his FRESHMAN year and starting for varsity.

Also in the class of 2014 , Dalton Crossan's little brother, Trenton looks the part of a beast already of course at rb.

David Gaydosz a 6'0" rb from Winfield , WV has early interest from Louisville and Kentucky. The kid has breakaway speed and has good size and whats refreshing he is kind of a longstrider. He can cut both ways and he looks like a solid D 1 recruit. Rivals reports him having 4.49 speed. Not to shabby a prospect.

Nice finds, WDB, but I seriously doubt this Ryan kid will get the opportunity to play RB. I see "slot receiver" in his future.

The fact that Florida State is even recruiting him is an outright miracle, albeit now more plausible since plantation owner Bowden has retired. He would've gotten another hearty guffaw if a reporter asked him if he was recruiting a White kid to play RB.

Florida State probably saw Clemson playing freshman WR Adam Humphries at the slot position and thought that if Clemson played a White kid at a skill position, then maybe they could too. But that's probably about it.

I hope he makes the best choice for himself.

And two of them are from Mississippi and Mississippi St! Is this even allowed? I'll have to check the code of conduct at these two schools to see if it's really OK for a White player to play a position other than C, QB, or the occasional MLB spot. They could be in violation. I'll check back with you guys later and let you know what I find out.

You may be right Highlander. Switzer is on the light side but from what I have been reading most of the big schools want him as a rb/ scatback which I am sure would make Football Dad and Carolina Speed very happy
On another note: Switzer, Hopkins, lauro and Webster are all listed as rbs on Rivals which is what 3 out of 4 of them only play but Scout.com has all 4 listed as playing wr at the next level. The rampant bias is so obvious you would think more DWFs would sit up and notice.

There is a rb prospect out of Saint Ignatious High School in Ohio by the name of Tim Mcvey. This kid is only 5'9" and 190 lbs. but he is slick and fast. Yes we can all name hundreds of guys like this that get passed over every year but this kid on the defensive side of the ball is also impressive.
I could really see this kid becoming another Adam Archuleta in college. He pursues Qb's and rb's with this wild abandon. He would make a great safety or outside lb in D 1. He seems to only be interested in a few MAC schools as of now. He would make a great rb at the next level but we know the old story.

Switzer 2013, is light 160lbs. and only 5'8, 5'9 at best and a very talented athlete. Should play some kind of D-1, Although a year older than my son 2014 and I believe 2 years older than Footballdad's son, 2015.
I've seen Switzer live at combines.

My son is currently 5'11, 180lbs. still 15 years old, 2014 class. His speed numbers are right in line with Switzer's and is stronger and had a good Sophomore year, but that should be expected;(being stronger), he's bigger than Switzer.

Switzer may be a young Junior, maybe still 16. He looks very young, so he may have some growing to do, but still is a phenominal athlete. Switzer had a great Junior year and that's a big plus for him. I'm looking forward to seeing him in college.

How many small black athletes get there shot at D-1? The numbers are endless.

Nice thread! In the copy cat times a 5'-9" slot like Welker may have opened the flood gates.

Hopefully Dylan Cantrell can break some new grounds on reinstating white skill players back onto their rosters....Mississippi State has several white skill pos offered.

6'-4" Jake Oliver(committed to Texas) is one of the highest rated white WR's on Rivals in recent memory!

Others to keep an eye on:
WR-Devon Allen 6'-1" 190 4.5 (Phoenix AZ) offers from 17 schools including Notre Dame, Michigan, Miss State, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma St

ATH-Ty Slanina 6-0 182 4.4 (TX)...TCU wants him as WR; Stanford & Miss State offered

ATH-Billy Aaron 5'9" 180 (OH) offered by Pitt

Generating interest...
RB-Emerson Buckland(OH) 6-0 200 4.58
ATH Isaac Aakre (NE) 6-0 180 4.55
S-Nick Highberger (OR) 6-2" 190
ATH-Trev Hadachek (IA) 5-11 170 4.5

ATH-Dakota Dean(FL) will play Baseball for LSU

Two more rb prospects to look for down the road are Josh Danforth out of Georgia and Cole McKeel out of Texas. Danforth is solely being recruited by UCLA apparently as a rb though this kid is a VERY good outside linebacker. He has some really nice inside running ability and probably 4.58 speed at best but he is tough and cuts well North to South.
McKeel is another bruiser with top end speed. He is getting early attention from Rice but lists a whole slew of schools mostly in the south.

River Cracraft, a 6'1" 185 lb wr from California is getting strong interest from Duke and also Arkansas of all teams. I believe Zac Bradshaw also has an offer from Arkansas as well at the wr position. Maybe Kane Whitehurst could use the company?

Chase Dutra a wr/ kr from small town Indiana is getting huge interest from Georgia Tech and Northwestern. He is 6'1" and fast. Watching people try and tackle him is like trying to swat a fly. He has the strangest elusivness yet can really cut and accelerates away from defenders in the open field. They say he has 4.52 speed but he looks like a mid 4.4 guy IMHO.

Devon Allen was also third in the Arizona 100 meter finals in a time of 10.58 as a sophomore. This kid is going to dominate somewhere.

Anthony Cioffi, a 6'1" option qb out of Springfield NJ has signed with Rutgers to play safety and possibly return kicks. This kid is skinny but he really reminds me of a taller JJ Diluigi and he is one of the quicker cutting runners I have ever seen on any level. This kid should be a running back. He reminds me of Drake Martinez who will be playing rb at Nebraska next year, tall and skinny yet lightning quick in the cuts and gets up field very fast. I just can't see this kid as a safety.

Someone mentioned this kid last year but Florida rb , Cole Mazza has been offered by UCLA. I don't know if they want him as a Fullback because different sites have his weight listed between 200 and 225 lbs. and his 40 speed between 4.55 and 4.75. On video this kid is really quick and has some nice lateral ability. I find it strange UCLA would go so far east to recruit two white rbs in Mazza and the above mentioned Danforth when there are so many talented in California like their current scat back Steve Manfro.

In a strange story here! McKinley Kirkpatrick, a 5'11" cb/ wr prospect is getting early interest from Florida apparently as a cornerback. He is from Eustis Florida and reportedly runs a 4.5.
He looks choppy in his youtube film but he has great ball awareness and really glues to his guy once the ball is in the air. If he cleans up his backpedal he might be a solid prospect. I'm sure they want to move him to safety but its early and I can dream can't I?

Hopefully Kirkpatrick won't become the infamous "eraser" prefered walk-on special-teams material...at only 5'10" 165 it's hard to imagine him growing into a safety..only blacks are allowed to play CB and run 4.5's.+ he's a baseball prospect.

Here is another in the Class of 13' to keep and eye on:

Athletic LB-Mike Mitchell(TX) 6'-4" 215 4.55 40" Vertical-Jump...plays Tailback w/ offers from schools like Florida & Texas A&M; will visit USC...Dad played in NFL in 70's...has a younger 6'-8" brother Mickey that plays basketball & QB

Here is a serious dunk from Mike Mitchell as a sophomore!

Dakota Diesnner, a 5'10 ,180 lb. rb out of Oklahoma has no offers yet but judging by his youtube highlights the kid is extremely fast and elusive. He looks a little smaller than his listed size but this kid reminds me of a poor man's Barry Sanders with better straight line speed. If he has a good senior year I could see him getting 5 or 6 offers from large schools. Hes probably a MAC starter as of right now for down the road.

Joey Rhattigan, a 6' 200 lb. rb out of Nequa Valley, Illinois is another one to look for. He reminds me of the next coming of Luke Staley yet maybe a step slower. He cuts well both ways and can bowl people over as well. He is getting serious attention from Indiana and a slew of MAC schools.

Patrick Sermersheim is a 5'11" corner prospect out of Kentucky possibly going to Western Kentucky. He played safety his junior year but he projects at corner with 4.51 speed and the kid has terrific hips and hits like a truck.
Another corner prospect out of Ohio, Logan Kelleher is getting strong interest from Cincinnati.

One more corner getting some early recruiting attention is Jay Schneider out of Wisconsin. Hes only 5'9" and 165 lbs but hes cat quick. He mostly played rb last year but Illinois apparently wants him as a corner back. Just weird.

Another intriguing cb prospect for 2013 is Nick Gathright out of Taylor college in Indiana. He looks really, I mean really good on tape. He has no schools listed but he had 7 interceptions and 13 passes broken up as a freshman. I could see this kid going somewhere to d 1 football. Its funny how I found him on Rivals and they list him at Riverside CC though his highlights are from Taylor College. Maybe he transferred.

Another cb to look for is Alex Olivas out of Upland , California. He dosen't have any measurables listed but he looks really athletic with good body control on youtube. Time will tell.

Nic Sblendorio, from powerhouse Skyline High School in Washington State is another one to watch. He has 4.55 speed and a very quick 3.94 shuttle. Hes only 6'1" but he looks like David Kircus without the YAC abiilty but he is pretty impressive in the open field. Some PAC 10 team or Boise State will probably snatch him up at some point.

Colin Spencer, a 5'10" corner back out of Woodrow Wilson High in Dallas, Texas has no offers as of yet but he might be the best athlete of anyone in the class of 2013. He has run a 4.42 forty, has a 41 inch vertical and runs a 3.86 pro shuttle. He also is talented on the field. How this does not translate to being a top 10 corner prospect is beyond me except for the color of his skin.
