Arm "Strength" of QBs = Arm Speed

Anyone else notice the curiosity of the term "arm strength"? When a QB can throw a ball a long way, he has a "strong" arm. Why not a "fast" arm? Strong arms do bicep curls and bench presses with heavy weight. Most QBs are not great in the weightroom, and it's definitely not required of them. Distance of a thrown ball is directly related to the fast-twitch ability of their arm muscles, and much like sprinting and jumping, distance thrown is determined by the velocity of the arm motion. This, added to stabilization and thrust of the legs and hips, generates a long distance throw.

Would it hurt the caste system to admit that since many guys with "strong" arms are actually more gifted in fast-twitched arm muscles, and are "fast" in their upper limbs? By natural progression of thought, if true, one would question how one set of muscles would be "blessed" with a certain type of muscles, yet legs and hips are incapable of speed. It doesn't make sense. Since the caste media is stuck with white QBs dominating and leading the best teams to victory, their ploy is to call speed "strength", as if the likes of Paul Anderson, Bill Kazmeier and Ted Arcidi make up the ranks of rifle-armed QBs. No, what you have is the upper-body equivalent to long jumpers and sprinters. Arm S-P-E-E-D.

The situation for kickers and punters, also largely white, is even worse. These guys have fast-twitch ability in the legs, but they use different muscles than the jumpers and sprinters. They too are said to have great leg "strength" if they can kick a ball a great distance. These guys look even less like weightlifters than the quarterbacks. More caste language that makes no sense whatsoever. You don't hear Deion Sanders or Rocket Ismail being referred to as "strong" in the legs. No they will call them what they are - fast.

If they called the QBs and kickers fast, then it would hurt the SWG (slow white guy) image they want to promote among droves of impressionable sports fans. QBs and kickers are fast, and I'm going to try to refer throwing and kicking distance in terms of throwing/arm speed, and kicking speed from now on. That's what it is. Distance is just a function of velocity anyway. More speed and and an angle closer to about 30 degrees (optimal trajectory) equals a longer distance for the projectile's flight in the earth's atmosphere and gravity field. Simple physics.Edited by: FieldThrower
