2007 Highlights

Matt Holliday drove in two runs in Colorado's playoff win, giving him 137, one more than Ryan Howard. Holliday also won the NL batting title hitting .340, and finished 4th in home runs. He also led the league in hits and doubles. What a season for Holliday!


Whites went 1-2-3 in batting in the NL, with Chipper Jones and Chase Utley finishing behind Holliday. David Wright finished 7th and Todd Helton 8th.


Wright had a 30 HR-30 SB season. Eric Byrnes stole 50 bases, as did Brian Roberts. Adam Dunn, Holliday, Lance Berkman, Ryan Braun, Jim Thome, Justin Morneau, and Paul Konerko all finished among the top home run hitters.


Josh Beckett was the only 20 game winner in the majors this year. Jake Peavy and John Lackey both won 19 games. Peavy was the runaway ERA winner in the NL and also led the league in strikeouts. Lackey led the AL in ERA and Scott Kazmir led in strikeouts.


Craig Biggio recorded his 3,000th hit, Roger Clemens won his 350th game, Tom Glavine won his 300th, and Mike Mussina won his 250th. Trevor Hoffman now has over 500 career saves. Jim Thome hit his 500th career home run.


Braun, Hunter Pence and Troy Tulowitzki were three standout NL rookies this season.


Lowlight -- not a single white batter in the top ten in average in the AL. The AL is becoming for hispanics what the NFL and NBA are for blacks. Edited by: Don Wassall

I just found out that Ryan Howard of the Phillies broke the single season strike-out record with 199. What was unusual about that (to me) was this is the first I heard of it. Three years ago when Adam Dunn was setting the record the sports media was all over it. Oh poor Adam Dunn he sucks so bad, shouldn't he be benched so he doesn't set the record, blah blah blah.

Yet Ryan sets it and I don't hear anything about it. I understand Ryan was an important enough part of a pennant chase but except for RBI's he has the same stats as Dunn did. .260 avg 40 some HR's.

When checking Dunn's stats on baseball reference they list his "nickname" as Big Donkey, the kind of nickname they would never stick a black player with!

I never heard a peep about this record setting accomplishment. It's news to me as well.

I'm sure it wasn't highly publicized, but I saw it on the scroller that's on the bottom of one of the main ESPN channels. It has scores and stats and some injury and transaction news. It was there when it was close to happening and when it actually happened.

It being on the scroller did surprise me as it (the scroller) also serves as a platform favoring non-White "accomplishment" while often time DISAPPEARING superior White performances.

A good example of this is the way they use the scroller to deal with Indianapolis Colts' stats --- they almost always put Harrison and Reggie Wayne there regardless of their numbers --- while they "erase" the great performances by Dallas Clark. If you are White, you better put up MONSTER, I mean MONSTER, numbers!!

I know what the marxists are about but some of it is puzzling. Why allow some White's into the NFL for the purpose of hiding them? Wouldn't the NFL gain popularity if they promoted some good White player's, instead of singularly promoting blacks 99% of the time? Being that one-sided is frankly mind-boggling; it's also not smart on their part.

The Cubs, after three straight seasons of flat out stinking, when managed by black dusty baker, start out floundering,then pull together, and surprise everyone by winning their division,under WHITE manager Lou Pinella, with the same team baker flopped with the previous season.

A shame they got swepped,but if baker were still manager, they would have finished last - again.
