The AFC and NFC rosters are the usual racial composition, i.e. overwhelmingly black.


Good points: All six quarterbacks are white (Manning, Palmer, Rivers, Brees, Bulger and Romo). DEs Aaron Kampman and Aaron Schobelwere selected. Schobel in particular has been outstanding for years.


Bad points: Urlacher, Zach Thomas and John Lynch were the only other white defensive players selected. The offensive line, as always, is dominated by over-rated, past their prime players like Tarik Glenn, Will Shields, Willie Anderson, Walter Jones, Chris Samuels, Larry Allen, and Jonathan Ogden. At least one of the Colts white linemen, C Jeff Saturday, was finally recognized.

Translation: We've all been had...again.

I stayed up late last night to watch ESPN just so I could see all the players elected to the Pro Bowl, only to be disappointed...AGAIN. And, can anyone tell me as to why, exactly, D'Angelo Hall was selected? Was it my imagination, or did Terrel Owens light him all game long recently?

Here's a few questions that, maybe, you boys can help me with...


Caste System victim case #1 -Where is Mike Furrey? He is having a phenominal year. Furrey is arguably the Lions #1 reciever.

Caste System victim case #2 -Where is Todd Heap? One of the best tight ends in the N.F.L.

Caste System victim case #3 -Where is Tom Brady? I don't think I have to elaborate my disgust on this one.

Caste System victim case #4 -Where the f#*k is Mike Alstott, who has been running like a tank lately, and recently ran for over 5,000 yards for his career?

Caste System victim #5 -Where is Brian Russell, who almost ended Chad Johnson's life, much less his career, with that hit this season. He should have been given a free ticket just for being the only guy who knocked "Ocho Cinco" senseless all season.

Caste System victim #6 -Where is Chris Cooley?

Another disappointing year in the National Felons League. Not one White wide reciever, not one White defensive back (except fot John Lynch), and not one White RB or FB. What a nightmare.

Jared Allen should have made it hes an elite pass rusher and big play maker.

Shawn Merriman made the All-Pro team. He was suspended for 4 games this season for steroids use yet made it. Here's Mark McGwire - about whom there is still no proof that he used anything stronger than andro -- about to be nationally humiliated by being denied admittance to baseball's hall of fame, yet here we have a black NFL linebacker beingopenly rewardedfor steroids useby being named an all-star right after being suspended without a word of objection from the media.

When you're dealing with the worst there is, expect nothing and you'll never be let down.

considering the best offensive lines are the all-white lines or nearly all-white lines, I would say that the frustrating part of probowl selection is when the terrible sumo-sized black linemen make it over all the great white linemen out there.

BTW, when watching the Packers vs. Vikings I noticed that the Packers have an all-white offensive line and three of them are rookies. The Pats and Broncos usually have all-white offensive linemen as well.

Where is Mike Furrey? Well, he's averaging a whopping 11 yards per catch for the worst team in the NFL. Yeah, he's a nice story, yes he was a victime of the caste system, but give me a break.

Nice negative comment about a white athlete, totally out of place on a website devoted to celebrating white athletes. Can't you spend your Christmas morning's a little more constructively? How many blacks on the Pro Bowl squad were underserving? Why don't you comment on that once in a while?

Mike Furrey is a good candidate for MVP of the Lions this year. If they would have played him more they would have won at least 2 more games.

Mike Furrey doesn't have a great average on pass but that's because Kitna always throw him for 8yards or the short one for first down. Roy william got every bomb. Mike Furrey is way better then Roy Williams

Mike Furrey is special.Just think if he would have been allowed to be the number 1 or 2 receiver for his whole career.Remember,this is his first legitimate shot at receiver in the nfl and he is how old?He is having an amazing season and beating some of the best cornerbacks in the nfl.He should be on the Pro Bowl!

Furrey is a sure handed receiver who can be relied on to move the chains and get the first down. Actually, Cris Carter of Minnesota was the same type of receiver. He had several seasons similar to the year Furrey has had, albeit with more touchdowns.

These days Furrey's numbers aren't pro-bowl numbers back when white recievers went to Hawaii those were pro-bowl numbers because the west coast offense wasn't in vogue.

a lot of white linemen got passed over too. Mike Geoff, John Smiley, Chad Clifton, Steve Hutchinson, Jordon Gross, and all of the patriots linemen should have gone.

Well a white player or media figure can't say anything but a black player who is competing against him for an award can speak up.

Taylor cites Merriman's steroid suspension in award race

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor says the candidacy of his likely chief rival for NFL defensive player of the year, Shawne Merriman, was tainted by a four-game steroid suspension in November.

"You really shouldn't be able to fail a test like that and play in this league, to begin with," Taylor said Wednesday. "To make the Pro Bowl and all the other awards, I think you're walking a fine line of sending the wrong message."

Merriman, who plays outside linebacker for the San Diego Chargers, has denied he's a steroid cheat and blamed his positive test on a tainted supplement.

"A performance-enhancing drug is, obviously, what it is," Taylor said. "You enhance your performance by doing that. You fail that test, I think it's not right, it's against the rules and ultimately I think it's sending the wrong message to the youth in America and the people who look at this game not only as entertainment but also to learn lessons from it."

When told of Taylor's comments, Merriman said he tries to be a good role model, adding he has taken his punishment for the positive drug test.

"If I wasn't having the kind of season I'm having, this wouldn't even be a conversation," Merriman said. "The NFL will always have the level of integrity. That's what makes the NFL. In my situation, everything happened in an appropriate way. I sat out my four games, my money was taken away from me, my four games were taken away from me, and I came back and played my rear off."

Merriman leads the NFL with 16 sacks in 11 games for the AFC West champion Chargers (13-2). He has four forced fumbles and has one interception.

"He's always making plays," Taylor said. "He's one of the best young talents we have in this game right now as far as defensively, and he has had an unbelievable year. With that being said, there are certain rules and guidelines we have to abide by to play in this game."

Taylor has been one of the few bright spots this season for Miami (6-9). In 15 games, he has 13 1/2 sacks, 10 fumbles forced and two interceptions, both returned for touchdowns.

Taylor made his comments in a conference calls with reporters in Indianapolis. The Dolphins conclude their season Sunday against the Colts.

I applaud Taylor for calling out Merriman on this, and I completely agree with him. It is BS that a guy who had to sit 4 games out because of testing positive for performance enhancers should receive any extra awards or recognition.

the guest host who filled in for Rush Limbaugh on his radio show today went off on this issue for about 30 minutes. now he didn't bring race into it at all, but he pointed out repeatedly that if the sports writers and media types who vote on these things are being so vocal about leaving baseball slugger Mark McGwire out of the Hall of Fame for possibly using steroids, then turning around and endorsing Merriman's illicitly-enhanced performance by voting him to the Pro Bowl and possibly awarding him Defensive POY (due at least in part to cheating) is pretty hard to swallow.

Some clown on ESPN radio today wasspewing forth about how Merrimandeserved tobe in the Pro Bowl and should be in consideration for NFL Defensive Player of the Year because he took steroids "accidentally."


He then elaborated further, saying he realized there were "holes in his argument" and that if Merriman's performance now deteriorates without the benefit of steroids, Merriman will end up looking like the "21st century's version of Tony Mandarich."


I can imagine the machinations that were going on in his tiny, Caste-indoctrinated brain: "Did I overdo my worshipping of Merriman? Or did I underdo it? Should I say Tony Mandarich or Ryan Leaf for my example of a loser?"

Not sure who you were listening to Don, but it reads like something Colin Cowturd would say. The guy spares nothing when it comes to man-loving on the black affalete.

The annual snooze-a-thon is now underway. For the record, the AFC started five white players out of 22, the NFC three out of 22.


Right before the names and photos of the AFC's startingo-linemen were shown, Greg Gumbel noted that two of them were starting QB Peyton Manning's teammates on the Colts. I knew Jeff Saturday was one, and was trying to think of who the other one would be when the starters were shown and lo and behold, I had forgotten that the horrible Tarik Glenn is one of those black linemen who are annointed Pro Bowl starters for life. I'd love to know how many motion penalties Glenn was guilty of this past season compared to the rest of the Colts o-linemen, and how many times he was beat on a pass rush compared to the others.


This game is pretty much a poorly-played, slow-motion scrimmage, everyone doing their best not to get hurt. I won't watch anymore beyond seeing who the starters were.

I didn't watch it, but the AFC won 31-28. Peyton was 5 for 12 for 67 yards, while Vince Young went 4 for 10 and a fumble and an INT. Carson Palmer led the AFC going 8 for 17 for 190 yards and 2 TDs.

The NFC was led by Tony Romo who went 11 for 19 with 156 yards, a TD and an INT. Marc Bulger went 8 for 15 with 133 yards. He also had a fumble. Drew Brees went 2 for 7 for 23, and Tiki Barber went 0 for 1, throwing for an INT.

Tony Romo was the NFC's 3rd leading rusher with 7 yards on 2 runs.

Tony Gonzalez had 35 yards receiving on 3 catches for the AFC.

Jason Witten had a catch for no gain for the NFC.

On defense, Aaron Schobel led the AFC with 6 tackles and a sack! Zach Thomas had 4 tackles to be 3rd for the AFC.

Aaron Kampman was 4th in tackles for the NFC with 4.
